As a seasoned esports enthusiast with over two decades of following and participating in the League of Legends scene, I find myself intrigued by the LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs schedule. The strategic depth, the raw talent on display, and the high-stakes matches promise an exhilarating experience for all fans.
Once more, GEN esports team dominated the LCK Summer 2024 regular season. Preparing for their fifth consecutive championship title.
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that after a nail-biting nine weeks of intense competition, the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Summer 2024 regular season has come to a close. Six teams have been selected to battle it out in the playoffs, with the winner earning the coveted spot as the second LCK representative for Worlds 2024. This is in addition to the champions of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2024, GEN, who will also be representing us on the global stage. It’s going to be an exhilarating ride!
Shall we take a look at the end results, the squads moving on to the postseason, as well as the forthcoming tournament structure and itinerary?
Qualifying teams
As a long-time fan of the League of Legends Championship Korean (LCK), I have witnessed many shifts and changes over the years. The LCK Summer 2024 lineup brings back some familiar faces while introducing new ones that I’m excited to see in action.
GEN players successfully maintain their dominating performance, losing only one match during the regular season to KT. With their consistent top-tier performance over the past few seasons, GEN is the favorite to win the tournament and to secure their fifth consecutive LCK title.
Contrarily, T1, who clinched the Worlds 2023 and Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 titles, appear to be facing challenges this season, slipping down by two spots from their previous season rankings. With high expectations for Worlds 2024, T1 is experiencing significant pressure that some believe has played a part in Faker’s recent turmoil.
Regrettably, I find myself once more grappling with the fact that NS, KDF, and BRO are struggling to make an impact this season, which unfortunately means we’re facing yet another premature exit.
