As a dedicated foodie and avid fan of cooking shows, I am thrilled to see the new lineup for Celebrity MasterChef! Each contestant brings their unique background and culinary expertise to the table, and I can’t wait to see them shine in the kitchen.

Chloe Burrows and Danielle Harold headline the group of five famous contestants ready to compete in the Celebrity MasterChef cooking ground, aiming to advance to the quarter-finals.

On Tuesday, the new season of the BBC cooking show premiered featuring hosts Charlotte Crosby, Craig Doyle, Edith Bowman, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, and Snoochie Shy. One contestant was eliminated in the first round of episodes.

Currently, it’s been disclosed that reality celebrity Chloe (aged 28) and soap opera actress Danielle (aged 32) from EastEnders will take part in the second round of competition.

Eshaan Akbar (comedian and actor), Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (BBC Gladiator and Team GB Sprinter), and Rochenda Sandall (star of Line of Duty) will also be present, joining the women.

Over a span of about six weeks, I’ve been completely hooked on Celebrity MasterChef! It’s been an absolute thrill to watch 20 well-known figures dive headfirst into the toughest cooking competition they’ve ever encountered in their lifetimes.

Speaking about her decision to join MasterChef, Love Island celebrity Chloe explained, “Growing up, I’ve been accustomed to watching MasterChef since my mom cherished the show. That’s why I decided to participate.”

I occasionally delve into the art of cooking, having learned most of it from my grandmother during my childhood years. Regrettably, I seem to have misplaced those skills upon going to college. Yet, I excel at following recipes to the letter!

I, too, enjoy Megan McKenna’s cooking videos, and I’m quite smitten with the mukbang content on various social media platforms.

Danielle shared that her motivation for joining MasterChef was her deep passion for cooking various dishes and her eagerness to expand her culinary skills. She admitted she’s not the most skilled cook yet, but is excited about the knowledge she will gain from the experience!

Eshaan shared how his passion for cooking ignited: “Back in 2014, I took on the challenge of preparing our family’s Christmas dinner.”

The initial time I tried my hand at cooking was for our small family of three, a stark contrast to the large gatherings mom would host in the past.

After that, my relatives started referring to me as a skilled cook. Ever since then, both friends and family have been amazed at my knack for creating delicious dishes out of seemingly nothing!

He revealed: ‘Favourite dish to eat is definitely khichuri – rice and daal cooked together served with pan-fried aubergines and a beef curry. It’s my go to comfort food and always touches my soul.’

Eshaan concluded, expressing his fondness for preparing a traditional Sunday roast – primarily due to the joy of synchronizing each component flawlessly.

Simultaneously, the actor playing Gladiator Nitro, Harry, expressed: ‘I adore cooking hearty meat dishes! They’re loaded with protein to boost my training. But present me with a dessert and I can’t resist – a chocolate fondant is my ultimate favorite.’

Finally, Rochenda revealed: ‘Walking into the MasterChef kitchen for the first time was terrifying because it’s basically like walking into your TV.

Despite the initial fright we all felt, it was an enjoyable experience. John and Gregg were incredibly hospitable, making us feel right at home. At first, for some strange reason, none of us seemed to have the courage to don our aprons. We just stood there frozen, much like a deer caught in headlights.

‘But it was brilliant – all the gadgets they’ve got and all the plates that you get to choose from were great. It was a very exciting experience.’

She added: ‘My favourite food to eat is anything Italian, and more specifically, pasta. I adore pasta, any kind, any place, anywhere.

Ever since participating in MasterChef, I’ve developed a passion for homemade pasta. I’ve even bought a pasta maker and my kitchen is now stocked with semolina flour.

In the next episode, John Torode and Gregg Wallace promptly assign the initial challenge to the contestants – “Under the Glass Dome”.

Taking it in turns, the celebrities pick a gleaming cloche (a dome-shape food cover).

After revealing the hidden ingredient, the celebrities are tasked with preparing a dish that showcases the ingredient in a way that elevates its prestige and fame.

Later on, they’ll need to prepare two impressive dinner party dishes for their guests, who are known to be quite discerning.

The second heat of Celebrity MasterChef begins at 8pm on BBC One on August 20.
