Rumor: Could Jedi: Fallen Order come to the Nintendo Switch 2?

As a gamer who has spent more time watching Let’s Plays than actually playing games myself, I must admit, I’ve been yearning for the day when I could finally get my hands on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The Switch might not be the most powerful gaming console out there, but it sure does hold a special place in my heart (and wallet).

I’ll openly admit that I’m no expert gamer; console gaming has always been a struggle for me. Instead, I find myself immersed in Let’s Play videos on YouTube. But, I did manage to acquire a small Nintendo Switch, and it’s a joy to play games on it. When Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was released, I wasn’t shocked that it wouldn’t be available for the Switch, but if this rumor is true about a new Star Wars game, maybe things might change soon!

As a dedicated gaming enthusiast, I feel it’s important to clarify that the information I’m about to share is purely a rumor, so take it with a pinch of salt. This bit of news was shared on the GamingLeaksandRumours Subreddit, which is hosted by Gameranx. A user named Joseki100 posted a claim from someone called ResetERA, who allegedly worked on the Switch 2. According to this post, several third-party games are rumored to be in development for the console.

Ah, here’s my take: “Wow, you know, I didn’t sign any agreements or NDAs, but I did catch wind that Switch 2 might drop in 2025 way back in early 2023. Intriguingly enough, I got a chance to adapt a game for this upcoming platform as part of my next project, following the sequel of the same game. That should give you an idea of the caliber of games being lined up for its launch. To be fair, it was a well-known franchise that would surely excite both gamers and casual players alike. I suspect Nintendo is allowing ample time for third-party developers to roll out AAA titles in preparation for its release date.”

Joseki100 subsequently ponders, “The sequence of events aligns seamlessly with Fallen Order as its sequel, Survivor, came out in 2023. This is the suggested time when this individual began working on the preceding installment of this well-known Star Wars franchise.”

As a longtime gaming enthusiast who has been through several console generations, I can’t help but get excited at the prospect of a new Nintendo Switch model, especially if it turns out to be more affordable than its competitors. You see, I’ve always admired the portability and versatility of the original Switch, but there have been a handful of games that I’ve missed out on due to hardware limitations. One such game is “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” which has captivated me with its immersive Star Wars universe, engaging combat system, and endearing characters like Cal Kestis and BD-1.

In the end, it remains uncertain if this gossip is valid, as there’s a chance it might just be nonsense. However, let’s keep our fingers crossed that it could turn out to be true, given our love for Star Wars.
