As a long-time enthusiast of the Pokémon universe, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming World Championships! The fact that they will be held in two of my favorite American cities – Anaheim and San Francisco – within the next two years is just pure joy for a fellow like myself.
Information about the venues and timings for both the 2025 and 2026 Pokémon World Championships has been disclosed. This revelation was made during the conclusion of the 2024 World Championships, which were held in Honolulu, Hawaii. Here’s where you can find the next two Pokémon World Championships:
Information about where and when the Pokémon World Championships will be held in 2025 and 2026 has been disclosed. This news was unveiled during the final moments of the 2024 World Championships which occurred in Honolulu, Hawaii, as part of a series of announcements.
The next two Pokémon World Championships will be as follows:
- 2025 Pokémon World Championships, Anaheim, August 15-17.
- 2026 Pokémon World Championships, San Francisco, August 28-30.
At least three World Championships are scheduled to take place in the U.S. by the year-end of 2026.
2025 Pokémon World Championships to be held in Anaheim
The 2025 World Championships are scheduled to take place in Anaheim, California from August 15th to 17th. However, the specific location for the event has not been decided upon just yet. Anaheim is a vibrant city that offers plenty to explore, most notably Disneyland California.
Information is scarce at this time, but you can anticipate the standard Worlds event experience. This year-long competition includes GO, TGC, VGC, Unite, and many more, with the possibility of crowning the first ever TGCPocket World Champion. Additionally, there will be exclusive merchandise available at the Pokémon Centre, special Pokémon GO spawns, and a variety of other activities to participate in.

Then the World Championships are heading to San Francisco in 2026
Instead of just making one announcement, why not make two? The World Championships in 2026 are coming back to California, but this time they’ll be held in the famed city of San Francisco. Mark your calendars for August 28-30, 2026.
If you fancy a trip to the home of the Golden Gate Bridge, given how far away this event is, don’t expect any real details for probably at least a year. However, you can at least try and find a Hotel and book some time off work (as well as start saving up!) with plenty of notice. By 2026 could we have not one, but two new Pokémon games?
