IndyCar: Gateway oval race not being broadcast on NBC

As an avid IndyCar fan with years of racing passion under my belt, I must say that the upcoming Bommarito Automotive 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway has me on the edge of my seat! After a brief hiatus due to the Summer Olympics, it’s time for the engines to roar again.

IndyCar will resume racing this coming weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, following a roughly four-week hiatus in competition due to NBC broadcasting the Summer Olympics held in Paris, France.

Last weekend, on July 21st, the latest race occurred in the city streets of Toronto, Ontario. This event marked the first of two events exclusively aired on Peacock, implying it wasn’t broadcast live on NBC or any other network owned by NBCUniversal, including USA Network.

On July 14, the race broadcasted on NBC was actually the second event of a two-race series held at Iowa Speedway. Since June 2, live racing hasn’t been shown on USA Network; it was on that day that they aired their second race out of six scheduled for 2024, which took place in the streets of Detroit, Michigan.

The race initially planned for broadcast at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on June 23 had to be shifted to CNBC, as the NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was airing on USA Network and was postponed due to heavy rainfall.

Gateway IndyCar race not being shown on NBC

As a lifelong racing enthusiast with decades of experience attending and following IndyCar races, I can confidently say that Saturday night’s Bommarito Automotive 500 at Madison International Speedway is one event I won’t want to miss on my calendar. With its 260 laps around the four-turn, 1.25-mile oval, this race promises to be an exhilarating test of skill and endurance for the drivers, and a thrilling spectacle for fans like myself who live for the adrenaline rush that only IndyCar racing can deliver.

As a longtime racing enthusiast who has attended countless events over the years, I’m excited to share my thoughts on this year’s USA Network’s broadcast schedule. This fourth race is particularly noteworthy because it marks the halfway point of the season. Having been to both Portland International Raceway and Milwaukee Mile in the past, I can attest to the unique experiences each track offers.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that among the exclusive Peacock events, I won’t want to miss the kickoff of the Milwaukee doubleheader on my calendar for Saturday, August 31st. Additionally, mark your calendars for Sunday, September 15th, as this is the sole NBC race this season, and it’s a special one since it’s the relocated season finale at Nashville Superspeedway!

Listen in to USA Network at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, August 17 for the live telecast of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500, held at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. Scott Dixon from Chip Ganassi Racing won this race last year. You can find the complete starting lineup right here. Sign up for a free trial of FuboTV and make sure you don’t miss it!
