The touching reason Pierce Brosnan takes his mum to visit his movie sets
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the extraordinary, I must say that being surrounded by such illustrious company and witnessing the bond between Pierce Brosnan and his mother, Mary May Smith, is truly heartwarming. It’s not every day one gets to bear witness to a story of reconnection and mutual respect, especially when it involves a cast as stellar as Sir Ben Kingsley, Dame Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, and the legendary Steven Spielberg.
Being surrounded by acting royalty would leave most star-struck.
But for Mary May Smith it’s just another day as Pierce Brosnan’s mother.
once more, the 90-year-old graced as the VIP on the set of Brosnan’s recent films, as the actor sought to make up for misplaced years following their separation during his childhood.
71-year-old Brosnan posted a photo on social media featuring Ms. Smith grinning in a beige sweater-and-pants set, along with his esteemed co-stars Sir Ben Kingsley (80), Dame Helen Mirren (79), and Celia Imrie (72).
The star-studded cast has been brought together for The Thursday Murder Club, which is being produced by Steven Spielberg, and is based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Richard Osman.
In his later years, Brosnan developed a strong bond with his mother, which had not been present earlier in their lives.
As a baby, he was left by his biological father and was instead brought up by his Irish grandparents while Ms. Smith, a former nurse, worked in England to support the household financially. She could visit him annually.
For quite some time, the duo has been catching up extensively with Ms. Smith by accompanying her at numerous high-profile premieres and film productions.
The Netflix film has no set release date as yet.
