Kirsten Dunst will star in the next installment of The Housemaid, a sequel that was greenlit after the first film proved popular with audiences. The project was first revealed in January.
Sydney Sweeney will return as Millie Calloway in the sequel to The Housemaid’s Secret. Kirsten Dunst is joining the cast, and is expected to play the mysterious Mrs. Garrick, Millie’s boss.
The first film was adapted from Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel and written for the screen by Rebecca Sonnenshine. The next movie will also be written by Sonnenshine, and it will continue the story from the second book in the series.
The synopsis for The Housemaid’s Secret reveals Millie is back, working as a housekeeper for a woman she’s forbidden to look at. She soon uncovers a dangerous secret behind a locked door – one that could be even more shocking than her own.
Erin Westerman, head of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, announced they’re excited to work with Kirsten Dunst on the next installment of The Housemaid. Westerman praised Dunst as a legendary actress with a remarkably versatile and daring career.

In addition to acting in the film, Sweeney will also be a producer with Todd Lieberman, director Paul Feig, and Laura Fischer. Actor Michele Morrone will return to play his character, Enzo Accardi, the groundskeeper.
The Housemaid’s Secret is the second book in a three-part series by McFadden, released before The Housemaid is Watching. She also wrote a related short story called The Housemaid’s Wedding.

I’m so excited to hear that Kirsten Dunst is going to be in A Minecraft Movie 2! Apparently, she’s playing Alex in the sequel, and it’s coming out next June. It’s great to see her back in another big franchise!
