Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home the sequel to the classic farming series, Harvest Moon is set to release on August 23, 2024
As a long-time fan of the Harvest Moon series, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia washed over me when I heard about the upcoming release of Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home. Ever since I first started playing the original games back on my trusty old Game Boy Color, this franchise has been a constant source of comfort and joy for me.
The upcoming game titled “Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home” is the newest addition to the beloved farming simulation series, known as Harvest Moon. Natsume Inc has officially announced that it will be released on August 23, 2024, making this the first release in the series since 2019.
Harvest Moon is a classic title amongst Farming simulators as it kickstarted the genre
The Harvest Moon series boasts a dedicated fanbase and is recognized as one of the pioneers in the farming simulation genre. Following the launch of its initial games, numerous other studios and developers have created titles with similar concepts, such as Stardew Valley, Farming Simulator, Hay Day, My Time at Portia, and Sunrise Village.
At its core, this game serves as an authentic farming simulation. It encompasses essential aspects such as establishing a farm from the ground up, collecting necessary resources, effectively managing these resources to ensure quality output, and utilizing the income earned to expand the farm further.
The series is recognized for its charming farm-based gameplay, and with the upcoming launch, developers aim to maintain this appeal. This forthcoming game will embody the classic Harvest Moon aesthetic that fans have fond memories of, as confirmed by Natsume’s CEO and president, Hiro Maekawa.
2019 saw the arrival of Harvest Moon: Mad Dash, a spin-off that stirred up quite a mix of reactions among us gamers due to its genre shift towards puzzles. However, the upcoming title, Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home, aims to rekindle the charm of our beloved farming series by returning to its comfortable and relaxing roots.
