As a seasoned observer of the dramatic twists and turns of Hollywood, I can’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for Kevin Spacey. His meteoric rise to fame, crowned by an Oscar win, was followed by a devastating fall from grace due to allegations that have tarnished his reputation.

According to the new owner, Kevin Spacey has not vacated his $5.6 million Baltimore residence despite it being sold in a foreclosure auction, several weeks ago at a reduced price.

Previously, the actor (age 65) mentioned that he had to sell his waterfront property due to the substantial legal bills from his 2023 sexual assault trial, which amount to a considerable sum of money.

Around the last week of July, a 9,000-square-foot property went under the hammer for $3.24 million. This high-value acquisition was made by Maryland real estate investor, Sam Asgari, though he chose to keep his identity confidential during the purchase.

Now, Asgari asserts that Spacey is unwilling to leave the premises and is demanding to stay there without paying rent for an additional six months.

An attorney for Spacey denied Asgari’s allegations to the Baltimore Banner on Wednesday.

DailyMail.com has reached out to reps for Spacey for further comment.

Currently, according to Asgari, he is unwilling to depart, and he has requested a six-month extension to vacate the premises without incurring any charges.

Since purchasing the house at an auction three weeks back, Asgari has found himself unable yet to claim ownership of the property.

Additionally, he stated that he was compelled to engage in discussions with Spacey’s legal team, with the aim of persuading the actor to withdraw from the project.

However, Spacey’s lawyer, Edward U. Lee III, denied Asgari’s claim.

‘The accusation by Mr. Asgari is false,’ he wrote in a brief statement to the outlet Wednesday.

According to The Baltimore Banner, the successful bidder at foreclosure auctions must wait for a court’s approval before they can finalize the property purchase, usually taking several weeks.

After the purchase agreement is finalized, the new homeowner may choose to initiate an eviction process if necessary, with help from the Sheriff’s office. However, it’s more common for the original owner to leave the property on their own after it has been sold.

News of the sale of Spacey’s Baltimore mansion was reported on July 25.

Initially, only the fact was clear that it had been bought for a total sum of $3.24 million by an unidentified individual.

According to Compass Realtor Sam Sheibani, the property in question is well-known and significant in Baltimore. We were keen on acquiring it, though, unfortunately, it’s being sold for reasons other than our preference.

The two-unit, waterfront condo last sold in 2017 for over $5.6 million to Clear Toaster LLC.

No images were available of the property at the auction, which was sold in ‘as is’ condition.

Since facing accusations of sexual misconduct in 2017, which led to his expulsion from Hollywood, Spacey has managed to avoid financial collapse on two separate occasions.

In the previous year, I found myself utterly captivated by the news that a two-time Academy Award recipient had been acquitted of nine alleged sexual misconducts spanning over two decades, during a sensational trial in the heart of the UK.

Despite vigorously denying the accusations, Spacey is yet to confront another civil trial initiated by one of his accusers.

Last month, he appeared on Morgan’s Uncensored program where he said he is virtually penniless and owes ‘many millions’.

He mentioned, “You understand the concept of legal expenses, don’t you? I’m currently struggling to clear an outstanding amount in legal fees that I’ve accumulated and haven’t managed to settle yet.”

Previously, it was attempted by Spacey’s representative to create uncertainty regarding whether the property was indeed owned by the actor.

However, court records showed he had a significant amount in back payments.

The house situated within the urban heart of the city’s harbor port was covertly inhabited by Spacey during the filming of the popular Netflix series “House of Cards.” The ownership of this property was registered under the name Clear Toaster LLC.

In the aftermath of the public scandal concerning my sexual misconduct allegations, causing the termination of my contract with the streaming titan, Netflix, I found myself unable to maintain the mortgage payments on my expansive riverside property, leading to its listing for sale.

In 2021, a judge ruled that a person involved with House of Cards, a popular Netflix series, should pay approximately $31 million to the production company following claims that he had behaved inappropriately toward a crew member on set.

Recently, when asked by Piers Morgan about his perspective on unacceptable actions, Spacey responded by saying: “Exploring limits.”

In the past, I may have unintentionally crossed boundaries by touching someone in a sexual manner without their consent. However, it’s important to note that I do value affection and express it gently towards others. This is simply my nature.

But in February, he agreed a settlement with Media Rights Capital (MRC) to pay $1 million.

In June, Spacey emotionally vowed that he ‘won’t give up on acting’ after fresh allegations were made against him in a bombshell documentary by the UK’s Channel 4.

The star accused the broadcaster of ‘having an agenda’ in deciding to go ahead with airing its two-part film, Spacey Unmasked.

The film showcased unprecedented accounts regarding the actor’s questionable conduct, which had not been heard before.

At the height of his professional success, Spacey amassed nearly $77 million and owned real estate properties across various parts of the United States and London.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Spacey had put his central London penthouse flat on the market for £3 million.

As a long-term resident of London, I have had the privilege of calling many homes mine over the past two decades. However, none has been as extraordinary as the magnificent duplex situated near Waterloo station and my former workplace at the Old Vic theatre. The panoramic views of the city from its windows are truly breathtaking, making it feel like a small piece of heaven right in the heart of London. This home holds a special place in my heart, as it has been a constant presence in my life for twenty years. It’s not just a building; it’s a cherished memory of my journey through this incredible city and its vibrant theatre scene.

It’s believed that the previous Oscar laureate resided in the apartment while a series of events unfolded leading to his legal issues, with several individuals alleging they were victims of assault by him.

It appears that Spacey is no longer residing in the penthouse, yet it remains unclear what his future living arrangements might be.

According to a source, the Waterloo duplex held great significance for Kevin Spacey during the most prosperous phase of his life.

In the year 2000, when he had just triumphed with his Best Actor Oscar for American Beauty, he made his way to London.

He aspired to follow in the footsteps of renowned English actors such as Olivier and Gielgud, believing that becoming the artistic director at the Old Vic Theatre, strongly linked to them, would help him reach this goal.

He maintained his prestigious position for more than a decade, which granted him access to numerous opportunities. Yet, simultaneously, he harbored a sense of entitlement not only in his professional life but also in his sexual pursuits. This eventually led to his downfall.

‘This apartment is where it all happened – and where it all went wrong.’

As a devoted follower, I’ve learned that Kevin has been reported to reside at this location since no later than 2004. However, there seems to be some ambiguity regarding whether he was the actual owner or simply a tenant – possibly a renter all along.

‘He is after all very guarded about his financial affairs.

‘But the fact that he has moved out and it’s on the market speaks volumes about his situation.’
