Bridgerton’s Bessie Carter in first look at new period drama
As a seasoned gamer of both the small screen and the big, I must say that the unveiling of Bessie Carter in the upcoming period drama “Outrageous” has piqued my interest like a well-placed arrow in an episode of “Arrow.” The allure of real-life figures and their scandalous lives is akin to unlocking a rare, high-value collectible in a game.
A first look at Bridgerton star Bessie Carter in new period drama Outrageous has been unveiled.
In the recently introduced U and U&Drama collection, an actor takes on the role of Nancy Mitford, a genuine individual, while the show unfolds the actual account of the Mitford sisters.
Fresh images have been unveiled for the six-episode drama series, showcasing Carter in his role alongside other key characters.
The series, inspired by Mary Lovell’s book “The Mitford Girls”, chronicles the lives of six unconventional aristocratic sisters who frequently defied societal norms and made international news with their scandals.
Amidst the ominous backdrop of the approaching storm in the 1930s, hidden beneath the extravagance, indulgence, and glamour of British aristocracy, the film Outrageous will unveil the raw, unfiltered tale of the Mitford sisters for the first time on screen.
“This tale delves into the intricate web of a family’s relationships, deceit, notorious scandals, radical ideologies, deep affection, sorrowful moments, and incarceration – a unique family chronicle unlike any other. The Mitfords were not just extraordinary; they were brazen, audacious, and undeniably human.”
In addition, we have Joanna Vanderham from “The Control Room” playing Diana Mitford, Shannon Watson from “The Jetty” portraying Unity Mitford, Zoe Brough of “Casualty” taking on the role of Jessica Mitford, Orla Hill from “Stonehouse” as Deborah Mitford, and Isobel Jesper Jones from “The Hunger Games” as Pamela Mitford joining our cast.
In “Belgravia: The Next Chapter,” Toby Regbo portrays Tom Mitford, Anna Chancellor plays Sydney Freeman-Mitford, James Purefoy takes on the role of David Freeman-Mitford, Calam Lynch from “Bridgerton” is cast as Bryan Guinness, Joshua Sasse from “Love Is in the Air” assumes the character of Oswald Mosley, and Jamie Blackley known for “Becoming Elizabeth” takes up the role of Peter Rodd.
Previously, Carter expressed great excitement and gratitude for the chance to portray such a brilliant figure as Nancy Mitford, as he stated before.
As a gamer, I can hardly contain my excitement about being part of the tale of this extraordinary clan of women, each one possessing an unusual charm that sets them apart from the rest.
Outrageous will premiere on U and U&Drama next year.
