Acclaimed BBC drama returning to screens after two-year break – but there’s a catch for British fans
As a die-hard fan of gripping shows, I’m absolutely thrilled about the return of “Industry”! Having binge-watched eight seasons of Game of Thrones and Marvel’s Eternals, I can’t wait to see Kit Harington back on my screen. With a diverse cast that includes familiar faces like Myha’la Herrold and new additions like Sarah Goldberg and Fiona Button, this season promises to be nothing short of spectacular!
The much-anticipated BBC series “Industry” is making its comeback on television, however, UK audiences must be patient as they will need to wait a bit longer to see the upcoming episodes.
The world of finance captivates spectators by offering an intimate perspective on its enigmatic core, focusing on a team of ambitious young financiers navigating the high-stress atmosphere and wild mix of sex and drug use in the chaotic, global hub of Pierpoint & Co’s London branch.
Eagerly counting down the days like a star-struck groupie, I can’t help but feel the anticipation building as I recall that glorious day, August 11, when Season 3 premiered on HBO for my American counterparts. Yet, here in the UK, we’re still waiting – almost two years since Series 2 drew to a close. The wait continues, but the thrill of being a part of this shared fandom keeps me going!
It is set to arrive on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
Kit Harington is seen as Lord Henry Muck in the third series of high-finance drama Industry.
BBC and HBO provide a sneak peek into the upcoming series where wealth, politics, and social status intersect, as Pierpoint & Co embarks on a significant risk in the realm of ethical finance.
Pierpoint is set to take center stage once more in the captivating series, immersing audiences once more into the relentless realm of high-stakes investment banking.
In the third season, Pierpoint ventures towards the future by making a substantial investment in ethical business practices, with the firm getting connected to Lumi, a pioneering eco-friendly technology company specializing in renewable energy.
The company is controlled by British aristocrat Lord Henry Muck (Kit Harington), who is described as the embodiment of ‘old money’ privilege.
In the exciting initial public offering (IPO) of Lumi, characters Yasmin (Marisa Abela), Robert (Harry Lawtey), and Eric (Ken Leung) will take center stage.
After departing from Pierpoint, Harper (Myha’la) is keen on re-immersing herself in the alluring world of finance. An unexpected collaborator in this endeavor is Petra Koenig, a portfolio manager at FutureDawn, played by Sarah Goldberg.
The cast reprising for the industry consists of Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Harry Lawtey, Ken Leung, Conor MacNeill, Sagar Radia, Indy Lewis, Adam Levy, Sarah Parish, Trevor White, Elena Saurel, and Irfan Shamji.
In addition to the existing cast, we have newcomers such as Kit, Sarah Goldberg portraying Petra Koenig, Miriam Petche as Sweetpea Golightly, Andrew Havill as Lord Norton, Roger Barclay as Otto Mostyn, Fady Elsayed as Ali El Mansour, and Fiona Button as Denise Oldroyd.
After completing eight seasons on Game of Thrones, Kit Harbour joined an illustrious lineup in Marvel’s The Eternals, playing the role of Black Knight, which premiered in 2021.
In the previous year, I had the privilege of being the leading figure in the captivating anthology series titled Extrapolations, exclusively available on Apple TV+. This thought-provoking show began its run on March 17, offering a vivid portrayal of the profound impact of climate change.
In October 2022, it was revealed that HBO has greenlit a third season of Industry, and actress Myha’la Herrold (who portrays Harper) expressed her gratitude: “You all did this… Thank you so much for tuning in to our series and showering us with such affection.”
‘I can’t wait to bring you more @industryhbo. Season three is coming!’
Previously, creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay hinted on a Discord conversation about having an excellent concept for Season 3.
Kay mentioned that during season two, we followed a rule of swiftly implementing our most promising storyline concepts before anyone else could, she explained.
‘Hold nothing back. Every episode should feel like a finale. We hate how slow most modern TV is.’
Leung, Alex Alomar Akpobome, David Jonsson, Conor MacNeill, and Jay Duplass.
In an interview with Deadline on Tuesday, HBO’s Senior Vice President of Programming, Kathleen McCaffrey, stated that the industry achieved unprecedented success during its second season, effectively solidifying its reputation as a captivating, talk-of-the-town series with irresistible narratives, complex characters, rapid plot development, and insightful commentary on modern workplace interactions.
We’re exceptionally pleased with the achievements of Mickey, Konrad, Jami O’Brien, Jane Tranter, and their team at Bad Wolf, along with our whole cast and production staff. They have truly outdone themselves.
‘We couldn’t be more excited to continue our journey with them into season three.’
The series will air on BBC and HBO later this year.
