Taskmaster’s Guz Khan cast in London-set series from Riz Ahmed

As a fan who’s been following the careers of these talented individuals, I must say it’s a thrilling time! Guz Khan, the brilliant mind behind “Man Like Mobeen” and the hilarious contestant on Taskmaster, is joining forces with Riz Ahmed in an upcoming Prime Video comedy. The mystery title has London as its backdrop, promising an intriguing blend of existential crisis and trippy conspiracy thriller!


Taskmaster star Guz Khan has been cast in a new series from Riz Ahmed.

A comedy series on Amazon Prime (still without an official name) centers around the story of Shah Latif, a struggling actor, set amidst the backdrop of bustling London.

In the brink of securing his dream role, Latif finds himself grappling with profound self-reflection and a mind-bending, suspenseful tale about secret plots, all intertwined together.

The character played by Khan is yet to be confirmed.

The popular comedian, recognized for both starring in and producing the BBC show “Man Like Mobeen,” previously participated in the 12th season of “Taskmaster” (in 2021), and more recently featured in the Netflix series “The Gentlemen.”

In addition, he’s set to feature in the upcoming holiday film by Richard Curtis titled “That Christmas” that’s scheduled to premiere on Netflix towards the end of this year.

The animated movie features Jodie Whittaker from “Doctor Who” and Brian Cox from “Succession.” This film revolves around interconnected stories that explore themes such as family, friendship, love, and the concept of loneliness. Interestingly, it also delves into Santa Claus encountering a significant error in his work.

In addition, Fiona Shaw, Bill Nighy, Lolly Adefope, Katherine Parkinson, Sindhu Vee, and Alex Macqueen will also join in the vocal contributions.

Currently, Ahmed’s schedule has been quite full as he prepares for his upcoming part in the thriller titled “Relay,” which co-stars Lily James.

The character he portrays is a ‘middleman’ attempting to negotiate bribes between those aiming to uncover dishonest corporations and the corporations themselves. Yet, his covert operations are jeopardized by the presence of the character James, due to her concerns about her own safety.

Back in 2022 the actor won an Oscar for his work on short film The Long Goodbye.
