Diego Luna wishes Pedro Pascal was his best friend

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the Star Wars universe, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia when reading about Diego Luna’s longing to hang out with Pedro Pascal off-screen. While both actors have graced our screens as iconic characters like Cassian Andor and Din Djarin, their friendship remains untapped in real life.

Diego Luna and Pedro Pascal are well-known figures in the Star Wars universe, yet, as per Diego Luna, they haven’t had as many opportunities to socialize together as he would prefer.

At D23 2024 in Anaheim, Diego Luna was there to reveal footage from season 2 of Andor where he’ll continue playing Cassian Andor. However, Pedro Pascal was absent because he’s currently filming Marvel’s Fantastic Four in the UK. Despite his absence, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni offered a glimpse of Pascal reappearing as the fan-favorite character, Din Djarin, helmeted Mandalorian, in a teaser for The Mandalorian and Grogu.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Diego Luna mentioned that he would love to catch up with Pedro Pascal at D23. He shared that whenever he attends D23, he makes it a point to talk to Pascal and wishes they were friends who could meet regularly at such events. This isn’t the first time Luna has expressed his wish to spend time with the busy Pascal, but admittedly, he hasn’t called him in over a year due to their packed schedules.

I wish I was his best friend.

Apart from their encounters at different functions, Luna acknowledged that they haven’t had the chance to socialize beyond those events. In his words, “I feel like I know him, but I don’t. We’re just acquainted through these borrowed attires. We’ve never shared a drink,” he clarified. “What I truly yearn for is to spend some genuine time with him.”

We’ve never had a beer together. I really want to see him.

It’s clear Diego holds Pedro in high regard, and I hope they get a chance to share a drink together soon. Since Pedro isn’t active on Twitter anymore, let’s hope the message gets to him somehow. Cassian Andor and Din Djarin have both made significant strides within the Star Wars universe and beyond, so it would be fascinating if they could meet up in real life and enjoy each other’s company over a drink. With their upcoming projects, I’m sure they wouldn’t run out of topics to discuss!
