The movie “I Saw the TV Glow” was created and supervised by Jane Schoenbrun. She is recognized for her work in writing and directing the psychological horror film “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair.” Produced by A24 and Emma Stone’s Fruit Tree production company, “I Saw the TV Glow” focuses on two outcast teenagers, Owen and Maddy, who develop a strong friendship through their shared affection for a supernatural television series. However, when this show unexpectedly gets canceled, things take a turn for the strange as Owen and Maddy find themselves engulfed in a bizarre journey.
In the main characters of the movie “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and “The American Society of Magical Negroes,” we find Justice Smith (known for these roles) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (recognized from “Atypical” and “Bombshell”). Additionally, Helena Howard, Lindsey Jordan, Conner O’Malley, Emma Portner, Ian Foreman, Fred Durst, and Danielle Deadwyler make up the rest of the star-studded cast.
The chilling movie first screened at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and then had a limited U.S. theater release on May 3. More cinemas in both the U.S. and Canada showed it from May 17. Coming up, you can stream it on Warner Bros. Discovery’s service Max starting on September 20, 2024. Additionally, the horror film will be aired on HBO a day later, on September 21, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time/8:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
