As a gamer who’s spent countless hours binge-watching shows during late-night gaming sessions, I must admit, I’m quite intrigued by this week’s top 10 most-watched TV shows on streaming. I’ve got to hand it to House of the Dragon for snatching the number one spot – dragon fire beats all!
As we anticipated a week ago, House of the Dragon has reclaimed the first position, enjoying its time at the peak. Given the excitement surrounding the season 2 finale, I wasn’t surprised to see such strong viewership. However, the rest of the top 10? It left me quite astonished! Keep reading to discover if one of your favorite streaming shows has made it into the top 10.
Instead of depending on critics for TV show recommendations, we often turn to Reelgood as it provides insights into what’s popular among viewers. Regardless of whether a series receives good or bad reviews, its popularity is evident from the numbers. For instance, despite receiving negative criticism, The Acolyte on Disney+ managed to rank in the top 10 for several weeks.
Currently, these are the ten most-viewed television series: According to Reelgood, the following is a list of the top-watched shows from August 1st to 7th.
The top 10 most-watched shows on streaming (Aug. 1-7)
- House of the Dragon on Max
- A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder on Netflix
- Presumed Innocent on Apple TV+
- Batman: Caped Crusader on Prime Video
- Time Bandits on Apple TV+
- The Decameron on Netflix
- The Bear on Hulu
- The Boys on Prime Video
- Mayor of Kingstown on Paramount+
- Evil on Paramount+
Have any of these shows surprised you? I must admit, I never expected “Evil” (despite my affection for it) to hold a spot in the top 10 for as long as it has. It seems to lack the viewership it deserves, but I’m happy to see it here, albeit at the bottom. On the other hand, “The Bear” on Hulu and “The Boys” on Prime Video simply refuse to drop from the top 10 list, and that’s terrific! Both “The Bear” and “The Boys” are among the best streaming series out there, so if you haven’t watched them yet, you’re missing some truly outstanding TV.
Regarding “Batman: Caped Crusader” on Prime Video and “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” on Netflix, I don’t anticipate them remaining in the top five for much longer – just my two cents! However, next week could bring some changes as we welcome a new crime drama series, “Bad Monkey,” on Apple TV+. I have a feeling it will make quite an impression. Additionally, season 5 of the popular animated series “Solar Opposites” is now available to stream.
Two more shows that are likely to be added to the list shortly are “Bel-Air” season 3 on Peacock and “Emily in Paris” season 4 part 1 on Netflix. I wonder how the list will evolve!
