As a seasoned gamer of the news cycle, I’ve seen it all – from political scandals to celebrity health updates. But Carol Kirkwood‘s latest health update has me worried like an old-school arcade game on its last quarters.
TV personality Carol Kirkwood, well-known for her role on BBC Breakfast, recently provided an update about her health following concerns raised by her hoarse voice during the show.
Today’s broadcast (on August 13) featured a presenter delivering the weather forecast, but her voice seemed hoarse during the process.
After passing the mic back to presenters Sally Nugent and Jon Kay, Sally commended Carol by saying, “You came close to making it all the way until the end there, Carol, great job!”

Afterward, the weather reporter explained more clearly, “Yes, I understand. It seems to be that persistent cold for a hundred days. It simply refuses to let up and leave us alone.”
Sally expressed her hope for your swift recovery, saying, “I hope you feel better soon.” After that, Jon suggested, “Let’s try again in thirty minutes and catch up later!”
Carol then thanked her co-stars for their support.

Recently, the weather presenter on BBC Breakfast has been away from the show, and fellow host Matt Taylor has shared insights about her temporary leave.
“Good morning. We dispatched @carolkirkwood to attempt convincing summer to stay with us for a while longer,” he posted on X (previously Twitter). “In the interim, I’ll be handling the BBC Breakfast weather forecast this week and it seems… here comes more rain.”
During July, Carol addressed the 14-year age difference between herself and her husband Steve Randall, stating that she thinks there would be fewer critical remarks if their ages were reversed and Steve was the older one.

In a reversed situation, such an observation wouldn’t be made. A few remarks have been directed at me, but they don’t bother me, she shared with the Express.
“We’ve progressed beyond the point where terms like ‘toy-boy’ for him or ‘cougar’ for me would be accurate. What truly matters is our happiness together.”
BBC Breakfast airs 6am to 9am each morning on BBC One, the BBC News channel and BBC iPlayer.
