Grey’s Anatomy star Scott Speedman confirmed for season 21 return

As a die-hard Grey’s Anatomy fan who’s seen every episode since its inception, I can’t contain my excitement about Scott Speedman reappearing more frequently in season 21! The suspense around Meredith Grey’s love life has always been a rollercoaster ride, and it seems like we’re in for another thrilling loop this time.

In the upcoming Season 21 of Grey’s Anatomy, Scott Speedman is set to appear in a greater number of episodes compared to his presence in the last season.

In the upcoming season, the character portrayed by Speedman, who has had a tumultuous romantic history with Meredith Grey, will appear in at least five episodes as Nick Marsh, according to recent reports from Deadline.

After it was announced that Speedman signed a contract with ABC, it follows that Ellen Pompeo has also increased her screen presence in the 21st season, making an appearance in at least seven episodes as her character Meredith.

Originally, Pompeo was considering reducing her on-screen appearances, as Meredith departed for a while during season 20, which began in January 2023.

During that period, Sandra Oh discussed her departure from Grey’s Anatomy on The Drew Barrymore Show. She mentioned, “The show has been extraordinary for me, and I’ve cherished much of the journey. To be honest, I simply need to try something new every now and then.”

Meanwhile, the new season is currently in production, which is set to premiere in late September.

Recently, the actress from Grey’s Anatomy, Camilla Luddington (who portrays Jo Wilson), expressed being quite taken aback after reading the script for the season 21 premier episode. In simpler terms, she was left feeling quite shaken or startled.

As a longtime fan of “Grey’s Anatomy,” I have grown accustomed to the unexpected twists and turns that the show frequently throws at its viewers. However, even for someone who has been following the series for so long, the recent news about the future of the show left me utterly stunned.

Man, I was absolutely blown away! Can’t wait to see more, we’re returning next week, and guess what? I’ve got a table reading scheduled for tomorrow. Excited doesn’t even begin to cover it!
