Kevin Costner hugs son Cayden, 17, in RARE family sighting as they grab lunch in Santa Barbara following Italian yacht voyage

Despite the tumultuous nature of his personal life, he remains a devoted father who cherishes every moment spent with his loved ones.
On Monday, following his return to the U.S., it was noticed that Kevin Costner was spotted in a less frequent public appearance with one of his adolescent offspring.
In the sunny town of Summerland, California, the 69-year-old Horizon star shared a tender moment with his 17-year-old son Cayden, exchanging a warm hug following their meal together.
A pair consisting of a father and his son were spotted exiting the Summerland Beach Cafe in Santa Barbara County, just a short distance from the expansive property where Kevin resides with his young children, among whom are his 15-year-old son Hayes and 14-year-old daughter Grace.
After posting pictures of his Italian seaside vacation aboard a yacht, both the director and the actor from Yellowstone have made their way back to California this month.
The movie director, who saw his latest Western masterpiece flop at the box office, is a parent to Cayden and his two other young children with his ex-fiancée Christine Baumgartner. Their bitter divorce proceedings have been ongoing since she filed for it in May of 2023.
Kevin wore khaki shorts, showcasing his sun-kissed legs, much like what he usually donned during his sailing adventures.
The main character accessorized his look with a half-sleeved, bright white cotton shirt ideal for summer, combined with a set of dark sunglasses and casual flip-flops.
Instead of bulky attire, Cayden opted for roomier pants like baggy jeans, paired with a black, short-sleeved button-up shirt and a camouflage headscarf on his head.
He added a splash of color with a sporty set of orange sunglasses that stood out.
As Kevin and Cayden prepared to part, they reached out for a hug before going their separate ways.
A few days ago, there were pictures shared by Kevin, showing him grinning widely, taken on the deck of a boat belonging to Pardo Yachts, which he uploaded to Instagram.
In the comments section, Kevin was showered with compliments for his movie-like charm and his brief shorts. Notably, Savannah Chrisley, from Chrisley Knows Best, added a playful comment to the mix.
“She noted, with a pair of smiley and crying-laughing emojis attached, that his smile when he first sets eyes on me is something she observes.”
While the JFK star seldom makes public appearances with his kids, there was an exception during the June premiere of the first movie in his Horizon: An American Saga series, where he and some of his children chose to present a united front.
In 2004, he married Christine Baumgartner, and their three youngest children found themselves in the public eye due to a highly publicized, contentious divorce between him and his second spouse, which occurred later.
In May 2023, when Christine filed for divorce, she initially resisted leaving the family’s house in Santa Barbara, even though it was stipulated in their prenuptial deal that she should do so following the filing.
Initially, both former spouses aimed for shared custody of their three kids. Eventually, Christine received a monthly child support amount of $63,209, which fell significantly short of her initial demand of $165,000 per month.
Costner is a father to Annie (age 40), Lily (age 36), and Joe (age 36) – children he had with his former wife, Cindy Silva. Additionally, he has another son named Liam (age 26), who was born to his ex-partner Bridget Rooney.
The filmmaker completed the second movie in his Horizon series before the first one was even premiered this past summer. However, the distributor, New Line Cinema, removed the release date for the second film from their schedule, as the initial chapter didn’t manage to recoup its $50 million production budget.
According to reports, Kevin Costner started shooting the third installment of the series in May of this year. It’s also said that a potential fourth and concluding movie is currently being worked on. However, the financial performance of the previous sequels could influence its future.
