As a seasoned observer of human behavior and lifestyle choices, I find myself utterly captivated by the intriguing routine of Gregg Wallace, the celebrated restaurateur and MasterChef judge. His daily regimen, while seemingly mundane on the surface, reveals a man who has mastered the art of balance – between work and family, leisure and productivity, ambition and tranquility.

Gregg Wallace has disclosed his “morning rituals during vacation” as he enjoys a luxurious sea trip alongside his spouse, Anna.

The MasterChef judge, 59, did not shy away from giving fans an insight into his very early start, despite being widely mocked for his viral weekend regime

On Sunday morning, Gregg shared an early-riser’s tour of an empty ship with his Instagram followers at 5:45 am after he woke up.

Displaying his muscular arms in the mirror, the television personality flexed while wearing a tank top and athletic shorts, preparing for his workout routine.

5:45 AM started his day with Queen Anne coffee, followed by a glass of ice-cold water, before heading to the gym. This is his usual morning ritual during holidays.

Gregg and Anna savored their lavish vacation onboard the latest addition to Cunard’s fleet, the MS Queen Anne, which set sail for the first time in May.

After arriving home, he prioritized resuming his daily schedule by rising at around 5 a.m., catching up on news before venturing to the gym at 6 a.m.

Later, he joined a work meeting via Zoom, spent half an hour reading, and had a brief stroll, all prior to having lunch.

Following a lunch of lentil soup, Gregg took a brief rest, then worked in his garden for the remainder of the afternoon. He concluded his day by retiring to bed at 8 PM.

Earlier, Gregg shared his usual weekend routine with readers of The Telegraph’s My Saturday feature, leaving fans puzzled.

Instead of sleeping in on weekends, Gregg starts his day as early as 5 am. He spends an hour reading “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles, followed by brewing himself a cup of coffee and reviewing the sign-ups for his fitness program.

Despite needing some rest, his commitment to a Monday through Friday exercise routine doesn’t allow it. Remarkably, he’s managed to convince the gym staff to open an extra half hour on weekends, enabling him to have a secluded swim and sauna session before regular hours.

When people begin showing up (at the right moment), Gregg swiftly heads towards the treadmills, aiming to reach his target of 50,000 steps per week. However, he emphasizes that it’s a ‘sweat-free zone.’

After working up an appetite without breaking a sweat, the plan now includes enjoying breakfast. Gregg will be joining his assistant at the nearby Harvester restaurant for this meal, where they’ll savor a hearty plate featuring bacon, sausages, and a fried egg.

Despite folks usually finding it unexpected to encounter him at a budget eatery, he’s never felt let down by the cuisine there, and he especially enjoys their grilled chicken and salad bar offerings.

Alternatively, he pointed out that the food at multiple three-star Michelin eateries across Europe has disappointed him.

Over breakfast, the conversation shifts to business matters with his personal assistant, managing his MasterChef commitments, wellness company, and upcoming health and wellness podcast titled “A Piece of Cake.”

In reference to his latest health-focused podcast, Gregg reflected thoughtfully, expressing his delight in conversing with professionals while acknowledging that he is knowledgeable on the subject as well. His extensive experience includes journaling, practicing manifestation, setting goals, and immersing himself in self-help literature for quite some time.

It appears that Gregg enjoys a fast metabolism, as he typically has lunch around 12:30 PM, which is prepared by his wife Anna, 38, to be ready for him upon his arrival home at noon.

Following their shared meal, he enjoys a special bonding period with his four-year-old son, Sid, who is on the autism spectrum and now demonstrates an interest in interaction by seeking companionship and making eye contact.

In a straightforward conversation, Gregg, who has adult children Tom (29) and Libby (26) from his former marriage with Denise, mentioned: ‘I’ve become a more effective father as I’ve grown older, but having another child isn’t an option I would have preferred at this stage of my life.’

I’ve always been truthful with Anna, but it’s what she desired and I care deeply for her. All I asked for were two things: first, to have assistance at home (which led to her mother moving in), and secondly, to have at least one week every year where we could vacation alone together.

After an hour and a half of quality time with Sid, Gregg then indulges in two hours of me-time.

In the afternoons, this history enthusiast and gaming aficionado often retreats to his home study to immerse himself in the world of Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, a game that transports him back to the year 878 AD.

Having triumphantly guided the Norse, Saxons, and Celts in battle, he subsequently turned his attention towards cooking a meal for his loved ones at home.

As a seasoned lifestyle guide, allow me to share an intriguing insight I’ve picked up recently: A renowned restaurateur, who was once a greengrocer, has entrusted his main kitchen responsibilities to Anna. Meanwhile, he prepares a family meal only once a week, usually a delectable grilled fish dish from the local fishmonger.

As a devoted enthusiast, I, too, have embraced the art of crafting my own nutritious cheeseburgers, following a strict ban on takeouts post my health transformation.

On the other hand, alcohol consumption is limited for Gregg. He drinks only twice a week, often beginning with a pint, followed by a glass of wine, and sometimes ending with a drink of whisky or brandy. However, he has made a conscious effort to avoid excessive drinking now.

At the end of his tiring day, Gregg and Anna usually retire early, around 8 pm. They spend their evenings either reading books or watching movies on Gregg’s laptop, as he had found lounging on the couch eating cookies not particularly satisfying.

Sleep typically comes by 9pm.

On X, people started talking about Gregg’s Saturday routine, drawing comparisons between him and the comedic character, Alan Partridge, played by Steve Coogan. Fans were puzzled and found his behavior amusing in a similar way to the character Alan Partridge.

I’ve been enjoying every moment of my weekly catch-up with Gregg Wallace and his uniquely Partridge-like My Saturday show. In case you didn’t know, I might just be one of his biggest fans! And let me tell you, if there were a contest for LinkedIn’s most self-assured contributors, he’d certainly be in the running.

I encountered Gregg Wallace on one occasion. Remarkably, I ran into him not just once, but twice within an hour in Manchester’s downtown area. From our brief encounters, it doesn’t surprise me at all that he comes across as characteristically Alan Partridge-like during his interviews.

1. Here’s the part I love most… It’s all about history with Gregg Wallace #GreggWallace

9 pm rolls around, and it’s all about biscuits… and CHEESE, as I, your lifestyle guide, have learned from my friends Gregg Wallace and Gromit. Now, this seems too good to be true, doesn’t it? But trust me, every word of their culinary escapades is simply mesmerizing, an unforgettable journey of taste and camaraderie.
