Gypsy-Rose Blanchard's estranged husband Ryan Anderson reveals he's getting a DNA test to confirm paternity of baby she maintains is from her current relationship with Ken Urker

As a bystander to this captivating tale, I find myself deeply moved by Gypsy Blanchard’s extraordinary journey. Her life story is a testament to resilience and survival, with twists and turns that have gripped the world. From the harrowing ordeal of Munchausen-by-proxy at the hands of her mother to her conviction for second-degree murder, Gypsy’s life has been a rollercoaster ride that defies imagination.

It has been stated by Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s estranged husband, Ryan Anderson (age 38), during a live stream on TikTok on August 10th, that the paternity of their unborn child is yet to be determined through DNA testing.

Later on the same day, it was announced on his social media that Blanchard, aged 33, and her partner Ken Urker, 31, disclosed they were anticipating the birth of a baby girl, following their gender reveal event.

As a lifestyle advisor, I strongly recommend considering a DNA test if you find yourself in a situation where paternity is in question within a separated marriage, especially when adhering to the laws of Louisiana. This simple and non-invasive procedure can provide clarity and help navigate complex family matters more effectively.

Anderson stated in a social media post, “I must undergo a DNA test. Unfortunately, it’s not up for debate.” Later, he expressed his feelings by saying, “I really dislike finding myself in this predicament.”

Anderson claims he needs to undergo a DNA test for court purposes, and before receiving the conclusive results, he shares his initial thoughts or opinions on the matter.

Given my extensive experience with DNA testing and family history research, I find myself in a peculiar predicament. The timeline presented to me seems questionable, and while I can’t definitively say it’s not mine, I have my doubts. Regardless, I am eagerly awaiting the results of the DNA test to put this mystery to rest once and for all. Crazier things have happened in my life, and I remain open-minded, but until then, I will continue to ponder over the possibilities and form my own opinions based on my past experiences.

On the 9th of July, the media figure, aged 32, revealed her happy news – she is pregnant with her boyfriend Urker, and their baby is expected to arrive around January 2025.

This would put the date of conception to be around April.

On April 8, shortly following their public separation announcement, Blanchard (formerly known as Gypsy-Rose Alcida) filed for a divorce from Anderson.

If she’s still legally wedded to Ryan Anderson when the child is born, Louisiana law might require her to list him as the father on the birth certificate.

To ensure that Urker’s name appears on the birth certificate, Anderson needs to complete an affidavit affirming his paternity. If he fails to initiate this legal process through the court, it may be necessary for all three parties to undergo a DNA test to establish parentage.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “When a man signs an affidavit with his partner, who happens to be his boyfriend, in a situation where they’re both potential fathers, and if the boyfriend’s name is chosen for the birth certificate, then technically, he becomes recognized as the father by legal standards.”

Should the DNA test confirm that I, indeed, am the father, my name will be formally swapped with Anderson’s on the birth certificate, officially acknowledging me as the little one’s dad.

In late June 2022, Anderson and Blanchard acquired their marriage license in Chillicothe, Missouri, even though she was still incarcerated, according to Springfield News-Leader’s report.

And then, less a month later, they decided to tie-the-knot in a small prison ceremony without any guests.

Approximately three months following Blanchard’s release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri, which occurred in March 2024, the couple decided to part ways.

At one point, she posted on Facebook about a difficult situation: her separation from her husband and moving in with her parents. She mentioned that her family and friends are offering their support during this challenging phase. She’s focusing on listening to her heart and taking the time to discover more about herself at the moment.

Shortly following her disclosure about uncovering her identity, she was observed socializing with Urker, a former betrothed.

Approximately four months after this, on July 9th, they will reveal that they are anticipating their first child together – their happy news!

Blanchard gained international recognition following her conviction in Springfield, Missouri, on charges of second-degree murder related to the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

Her death came in the wake of what Blanchard described as a ‘lifelong physical, mental, and medical abuse,’ and ended up being sentenced to 10 years in prison.

She was paroled at the end of December 2023 after serving eight years behind bars.

Due to the extraordinary events in Blanchard’s childhood, such as her mother making her pretend to be sick and disabled, she became well-known in the media as a person who survived Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

Essentially, it refers to a situation where a caregiver or partner falsely portrays another individual, often a child, as having mental health issues that they do not actually possess. This misrepresentation is made to give the impression that the person is ill or injured.

In simple terms, when someone falsely makes another person believe they have a certain illness or condition (Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another, or FDIA), it could lead to severe harm or even the death of the victim.

The behavior might be motivated by the caregiver or partner seeking sympathy or attention.

Regardless of the ongoing legal disputes, Anderson expressed continued affection for her during a recent TikTok live session.

Subsequently, he made an effort to suppress the hostility directed towards his separated spouse, stating, “Should any of you criticize her, I should be the one. If I’m not doing it, then what’s the point?”
