Miley Cyrus brands ‘superfan’ Alex Cooper ‘kinda creepy’ and reveals she moved next door to her when she ‘got money’ from Call Her Daddy

Miley Cyrus called a dedicated fan, Alex Cooper, “a little creepy” while speaking at the celebration for the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana in Hollywood on Monday.

The 33-year-old actress and singer jokingly teased the 31-year-old host of the Call Her Daddy podcast for becoming her neighbor, making the comment while performing on stage at the El Capitan Theatre during a celebration of her popular Disney Channel show.

The Grammy-winning artist expressed her gratitude to Alex, the host of the event, for helping her create a memorable anniversary celebration. This came after she jokingly described ‘accidentally’ becoming neighbors with Alex following an interview in her garden back in August 2020.

Miley wanted to personally thank Alex. She was on her way to the archives to review everything she’d saved from throughout her career – some people call it hoarding, but she prefers to think of it as collecting and preserving items from every stage, not just her time as Hannah Montana.

I had this crazy thought and called her, asking about doing a special to celebrate Hannah Montana’s anniversary. But since I was still actively playing Hannah at the time, I wasn’t sure what fans would actually want to see.

It’s a little unsettling how much of a fan Alex is. What makes it even weirder is that she lives right next door to me. She recently came into some money and decided to move in.

The former Disney star joked that since there wasn’t anyone else available to host, it felt strange just walking over to the next studio to do it.

She was shocked when she realized I lived there, even though she’d interviewed me at my home five years earlier and already knew the location.

Oh my gosh, I was totally obsessed with Hannah Montana! It was about Miley Stewart – played by Miley Cyrus, of course – and how she led this amazing double life. She was just a normal high schooler, trying to navigate classes and friends, but also this HUGE pop star, Hannah Montana! It was so cool seeing her balance both worlds, and honestly, I think everyone wished they could live a life like that!

The show, featuring Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Ray Cyrus, ran for four seasons between 2006 and 2011 and played a significant role in starting Miley’s music career.

This special was filmed with a live audience and will begin streaming on Disney+ and Hulu on March 24th.

The special will include previously unreleased footage, performances of the show’s most famous songs, and interviews with Miley’s parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Miley seemed incredibly happy and affectionate with her fiancé, Maxx Morando, during a recent and rare red carpet appearance, openly displaying their love for each other.

She finished the look with these amazing silver heels – stilettos, of course, because she always knows best – and her blonde hair was just flowing, perfectly straight, down her back. I could barely breathe, honestly. It was perfection!

The attractive musician Maxx, 27, wore a white Celine T-shirt costing £423, paired with smart black trousers and comfortable matching sneakers.

Miley and Maxx began dating towards the end of 2021, shortly after Miley’s difficult split from Liam Hemsworth, who recently announced his engagement.

The celebrity also received support from her mother, Tish, 58, who showed off her toned stomach in a see-through black shirt, a blazer, and jeans.

Tish was with her husband, Dominic Purcell, age 56. Dominic, known for his role in ‘Prison Break,’ dressed casually in a black t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Reports suggest he previously had a brief relationship with Tish’s daughter, Noah, before they started dating each other.

Miley was supported by several family members, including her sister Brandi Cyrus, 38, who looked striking in a black leather outfit.

Brandi’s boyfriend, Matt Southcombe, was there, along with Joseph Purcell, Purcell’s 26-year-old son from his previous marriage to Rebecca Williamson.

The event on Monday also brought together other original stars of the show, such as Jason Earles (Jackson Stewart), Moises Arias (Rico Suave), Cody Linley (Jake Ryan), Anna Maria Perez de Tagle (Ashley Dewitt), and Shanica Knowles (Amber Addison).

Emily Osment, who played Cyrus’s best friend Lilly Truscott, missed the event.

The special will feature Cyrus looking back at the music and memorable scenes from the popular kids’ show. Fans can also expect to see some original sets recreated, like Hannah Montana’s closet and the Stewart family’s living room.

Disney also promises that fans will also be able to view never-before-seen footage.

Miley Cyrus shared that ‘Hannah Montana’ will always hold a special place in her heart. She explained that the show wasn’t just a television program, but a meaningful experience that impacted both her life and the lives of her fans, and she’s grateful for that bond.

I’m really proud that people still connect with it after all this time. This “Hannahversary” is how I like to celebrate and show my gratitude to the fans who have supported me for the past 20 years.
