Disney debuts first footage of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian & Grogu and Andor season 2
As a seasoned gamer and lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, I’ve seen my fair share of intergalactic adventures. The news about Disney’s upcoming projects has me feeling like a kid in a candy store, but with a light saber instead!
At present, Disney is in full swing at its D23 Expo, revealing all upcoming projects within the next few weeks and months. Notably, Pixar is developing the fifth Toy Story film and a third Incredibles movie. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is readying films such as Captain America: Brave New World and TV series like Daredevil: Born Again. In the Star Wars universe on Disney+, a new series titled Skeleton Crew is set to debut soon. This story follows a group of youngsters who board a spaceship, get blasted across the galaxy, and with the aid of a friendly character named Jod Na Nawood, portrayed by Jude Law, they embark on a journey to return home.
It seems that Disney is aiming to combine elements of “Stranger Things” with “Star Wars”, and it’s understandable why they would do so. The series titled “Skeleton Crew” is set to debut on December 3.
Among all the Star Wars productions Disney is currently working on, Skeleton Crew seems to be the one that has sparked the least excitement among fans; however, it could still turn out fantastic. Unlike other projects, its details remain uncharted. Although Disney didn’t publicly release footage for it (which means we can’t share it here), they did offer sneak peeks of The Mandalorian & Grogu, the much-anticipated movie adaption of The Mandalorian; and of Andor season 2, which will bring to a close the highly acclaimed Star Wars show focusing on the creation of the Rebel Alliance. Please note that the footage for these projects hasn’t been officially released either, but you can find them on Twitter by clicking the links in this paragraph. Keep it on the down-low, though.
On May 22, 2026, you can catch The Mandalorian and Grogu on the big screen. As for Andor season 2, we don’t have an exact date yet, but it’s expected to premiere sometime in early 2025. Among all Star Wars projects, that’s the one I’m most eagerly anticipating.
