All Elite Wrestling misses Kenny Omega

As a long-time fan who’s seen countless wrestling matches and followed the industry for decades, I can confidently say that Kenny Omega is a breath of fresh air in this chaotic world of professional wrestling. His absence from AEW has been like a missing puzzle piece, making it seem incomplete.

For nearly eight months now, Kenny Omega hasn’t wrestled in an AEW ring due to a series of injuries. Most recently, he’s been battling diverticulitis, which has kept him out of action indefinitely. Despite this, everyone from fans to critics and fellow wrestlers is hoping for his swift and complete recovery. However, it can’t be denied that AEW is feeling the absence of “The Best Bout Machine.”

Kenny Omega holds a significant role in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), as his mere presence significantly boosts the performance of other wrestlers on the roster. It seems they draw strength from his energy, striving to raise their own game. The year 2024 marked an expansion of the AEW roster via free agency, with high-profile signings such as Kazuchika Okada and Mercedes Mone. However, there’s a unique quality that Omega contributes to the team which appears to be absent since his departure.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but admire Kenny Omega. In an industry notorious for its share of unsavory characters, it’s refreshing to talk about someone like Omega who remains beyond reproach. Even as his influence expanded, finding something controversial to discuss has been a challenge. Occasionally, attempts were made to trap him with tough questions or seek his insights on unfavorable situations, but he consistently manages to handle these delicate matters with poise and professionalism. It’s this positive energy that wrestling needs, and it’s particularly valuable in AEW given the ongoing controversies within the locker room.

Based on Fightful Select’s report dated May 23, it was revealed that Kota Ibushi underwent surgery on May 16 while in New York. At the time of his operation, no creative plans were in place for him due to the expectation that his recovery would take a considerable amount of time. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer stated that Ibushi is already training in the gym and his return will not be delayed by “months and months.” Furthermore, fellow wrestling star Kota Ibushi hinted at a potential reunion with Ibushi once he recovers from injuries. These recent updates have sparked optimism among fans, suggesting that we might see him again in the coming months.

Allied Elite Wrestling (AEW) has skillfully constructed storylines that welcome Kenny Omega’s comeback. He’s in for a major confrontation with The Elite, primarily Okada and Jack Perry. Watching him square off against these two, as well as Ospreay, “Hangman” Adam Page, Swerve Strickland, or even Bryan Danielson, promises electrifying matches that will undoubtedly have spectators on the edge of their seats.

There’s plenty to look forward to in All Elite Wrestling. One such thrilling moment is when “Battle Cry” plays and Omega strides into the ring. Despite some setbacks with injuries over the past few years, let’s keep our fingers crossed for his quick return, as AEW eagerly awaits one of the greatest wrestlers on the planet.
