DC Comics: Absolute Power No. 2 brings destruction and hope

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of comic book-inspired virtual battles under my belt, I must say that DC Comics’ latest series, Absolute Power, has me hooked like never before. The stakes are high, the tension palpable, and the twists and turns keep me guessing at every turn.

For approximately four weeks now, DC Comics’ latest series titled “Absolute Power” has graced our screens. During this period, Amanda Waller and her Amazo robots (Task Force VII) have been stripping heroes of their powers, apprehending them, imposing a curfew on civilians, and disregarding advice from world leaders. This is undeniably one of the most challenging situations that DC Comics’ superheroes have encountered in a long while. Fortunately, they are not about to surrender without a fight.

Within the Sanctum of Seclusion, leaders engage in a heated discussion about who should command. Each presents convincing arguments, yet no consensus is reached on the one to be in control. Amidst the squabble, Nightwing steps in and assumes leadership. He delivers an inspiring speech that galvanizes everyone and earns Batman’s approval. Once tasks are delegated, Superman informs them about the available armaments within the Sanctum that they can employ for self-defense.

As I’m about to turn the tide, suddenly Brainiac Queen crashes into the Fortress of Solitude, bringing along Jon Kent, Superman’s son – a secret weapon of Amanda Waller. This unexpected move left us reeling. In the confusion, Dreamer slipped in and managed to snatch up more members of the resistance.

Superman implored his son, but failed to reach him as he was under the control of Brainiac Queen. The Flash employed Kryptonite to weaken Jon, but it didn’t last long. With no other choice, Superman activated the self-destruct sequence in the Fortress of Solitude. The other heroes managed to flee due to Dreamer’s sacrifice. She stated that Waller’s actions towards Jon were her final breaking point, and it seems she perished when the Fortress exploded.

It appears that Amanda Waller remains indifferent about Dreamer’s fate. With Task Force VII executing effectively, over 80% of the heroes are now in custody. Furthermore, the inaugural mission for Brainiac Queen and Jon went smoothly, and due to Jon’s heightened abilities, it seems there is no place left for them to conceal themselves.

Good news for the heroes

As a devoted admirer, let me tell you, Waller has the one and only Oliver Queen in her grasp. This man knows our superheroes like no other, can spot their quirks in an instant. Right now, she’s got him meticulously organizing all the weapons she’s amassed. He’s the sole soul who truly grasps their intricate workings. Yet, here’s the twist – Waller remains unaware that Oliver Queen has never truly been on her side.

In the course of their battle, Batman identifies a distinctive energy pattern that belongs to one of the Amazos. He might not know its exact location yet, but any clue is enough for him. Once he deciphers it, it will lead to the collapse of Amanda Waller, Failsafe, and their entire team.

Stay tuned to TopMob to see when that happens.
