Keith Urban’s new low: Nicole Kidman’s ex-husband takes modest job after costly divorce

Keith Urban is taking on a lower-profile job as he gets used to life after separating from Nicole Kidman.

Keith Urban, the 58-year-old country singer originally from New Zealand, recently played a concert for about 1,000 fans aboard the Top Shelf Country Cruise, which was traveling to the Bahamas.

This cruise line hires popular country music artists like Riley Green, Chris Young, and Lauren Alaina to perform for passengers, and in return, provides them with payment and accommodations.

Sources close to Keith revealed he wasn’t thrilled about performing at this venue, especially considering he’s used to playing much larger arenas.

According to a source in this week’s New Idea, the job isn’t something Keith Urban would have accepted while he was married to Nicole Kidman.

This development has also led people to wonder about Keith’s finances, even though he’s long been reported to be worth over $100 million.

Despite reaching a divorce agreement where Keith, 58, wasn’t required to pay alimony or child support, the divorce was still reportedly costly for both him and Nicole.

Divorce cases involving large sums of money always result in high legal fees, no matter how the case is settled, according to a source.

The insider added that regardless of how much his new job pays, it helps keep Keith occupied.

Working on cruise ships isn’t ideal, but it provides Keith with income and a much-needed distraction. He’s keeping himself occupied now that his divorce is complete, according to sources.

Although Keith’s exact earnings for playing on the ship aren’t known, a musician with his level of experience could have easily commanded a salary of over $100,000 – particularly considering cruise tickets ranged from $6,700 to $19,000 for a week-long voyage.

He’s trying to stay positive, but performing on a cruise ship is quite a shift from headlining his own sold-out tour last year, according to sources.

Despite the recent changes, Keith plans to continue working and is collaborating with his new team to develop some promising projects for later this year.

After news of Nicole and Keith’s breakup, friends and family have been supporting Nicole, while Keith appears to be embracing being single.

Keith Urban is currently enjoying a quiet, single life in Nashville when he’s not with his daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, according to Woman’s Day.

The publication claims that Keith has cut out everyone that had to do with his past with Nicole.

According to a source, he has completely cut ties with everyone from his previous life and is starting fresh.

Following their divorce, which became final in January, Nicole was granted primary custody of their children.

Nicole will have her daughters with her for 306 days each year, and Keith will have them for 59 days.

The last time Keith was seen publicly with his daughters was back in December 2024.
