First look at Inbetweeners star Simon Bird’s returning Channel 4 show
As a comedy enthusiast with a soft spot for British humor, I am beyond thrilled about the return of Simon Bird’s brilliant series, “Everyone Else Burns.” Having grown up with The Inbetweeners, I can confidently say that this new venture showcases Bird’s comedic prowess once again.
Channel 4 unveils a sneak peek of the upcoming comedy series, “Everyone Else Burns,” featuring Simon Bird, who previously starred in “The Inbetweeners.”
In the latter part of this year, you can look forward to the broadcast of the next installment of “Everyone Else Burns“. The Lewis clan from Manchester will be seen persisting in their journey, adhering to the increasingly peculiar decrees of a strict Christian religious group.
In recently released sneak peek images, we see the characters played by Bird and Death in Paradise actress Kate O’Flynn (as Fiona) working diligently to preserve their family unity amidst stringent religious guidelines.
On this occasion, Rachel Lewis, who plays Amy James-Kelly in “Coronation Street,” is adamant about asserting her individuality despite the cult arranging a marriage for her, wishing to break free from tradition.
In the series “Timewasters”, the new character, Paddy Young, portrays Jeb. This individual is chosen by the sect to wed Rachel, a decision she strongly opposes.
Simultaneously, Aaron Lewis is working diligently to modernize the cult, recruiting his father David to bring about positive change. Season 2 welcomes back Morgana Robinson from Taskmaster, reprising her role as Melissa, and introduces Sian Clifford as Maude to the mix.
The popular comedy series, titled Everyone Else Burns, hails from the creative minds of Dillon Mapletoft and Oliver Taylor. This show had its second season confirmed back in August 2023 following a successful debut run.
“Laura Riseam, Channel 4 Commissioning Editor, expressed her joy that the Lewis family has managed to avoid eternal doom for an extended period, thus enabling them to produce another season of the outstanding series ‘Everyone Else Burns’ for Channel 4 viewers. She extends her gratitude towards Oli and Dillon, along with the entire Jax Media and Universal International Studios team, and eagerly anticipates what awaits us when series two premieres.”
Beatrice Springborn, President of Universal International Studios, stated: “Everyone Else Burns is a divine comedy brimming with heart and intelligence that demonstrates humor can be found even amidst turmoil. Working alongside Jax Media and Channel 4, we eagerly anticipate audiences rediscovering the captivating universe crafted by Dillon and Oliver.”
Everyone Else Burns season two will air this autumn on Channel 4.
