Denise Richards’s plastic surgeon reveals details behind extreme facelift that helped her ‘look like herself’ again

The plastic surgeon who worked on Denise Richards is sharing details about the extensive facelift that changed the actress’s appearance.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I just saw the interview with Dr. Talei, Kyle Richards’ plastic surgeon, and he said she got work done because she honestly felt like she didn’t even recognize her own face anymore! Can you imagine? She just wanted to feel like her again, and I totally get it! It’s amazing she was so open about it.

Talei, dressed in his scrubs during the interview, explained that Richards told him her appearance no longer reflected how she felt inside, which is why she wanted a facelift. He also proudly mentioned she has the enthusiasm of a young person – like a twelve-year-old.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Richards and Talei for comment. 

Talei recently shared impressive before-and-after photos showing the results of her facelift, a procedure she had eight months ago to look younger. This new information provides a closer look at the transformation.

According to Inside Edition, the surgery lasted a grueling four-and-a-half hours.

The interview showed a clip of Richards while she was unconscious, as Talei injected a needle into her eyebrow.

He injected the substance in several places, and you could see where the needle had been under his skin.

Not only did Denise agree to have her surgery filmed, but she also let the surgeon, Talei, use a purple marker to draw on her face, marking the specific spots where he would operate.

Talei had shown photos of Richards before her facelift to document her appearance, but the interview also featured video of her making a sad face for those photos.

Dr. Talei explained that he gave Richards a face and neck lift, and also reshaped her forehead and upper face to give it a more refreshed look.

He also reshaped Richards’s eyes and performed a “cupid corner lift,” a procedure he’s known for developing and refining, which alters the shape of the upper lip.

It looked like Richards had some work done on her mouth to lift the corners, making her appear younger and giving her a brighter smile.

The interview showed a photo of Richards with a bandaged face, originally shared before, and a more recent picture taken a few days later. This newer photo clearly revealed the stitches around her eyes and mouth, which were easier to see now that some of the initial swelling had gone down.

Oh my gosh, when they asked Talei about how Richards was doing after the surgery, she just lit up! She said she was so incredibly happy with how everything turned out – it was the sweetest thing ever, honestly. I’m just so glad it went well for her, she deserves all the happiness in the world!

Talei shared that the woman exclaimed with joy, ‘I can see my eyes again!’ Richards, feeling like her old self, reportedly said, ‘I look like myself again.’

Talei shared before-and-after photos of Richards on Instagram on Saturday, showing the results of her surgery. The pictures highlighted Richards’s noticeably lifted eyebrows, more defined jawline, and generally smoother skin.

Dr. Talei shared in a social media post that he felt privileged to work with someone he considers one of the kindest and most beautiful people he’s ever met.

I really appreciate Denise sharing her experience with the procedure. She’s faced a lot this year, and I’m amazed by how strong she’s been.

Jane Richards shared in a recent Allure interview, published Friday, that she had a facelift last year. She admitted she was very scared before the surgery.

Dr. Talei not only gave Richards a facelift, but also lifted her eyebrows, performed an upper eyelid surgery, did a lip lift, and used fat grafting to enhance her facial features.

The actress revealed she had breast reconstruction surgery only three weeks before getting a facelift.

Just under two weeks before her contentious divorce proceedings began with Aaron Phypers in July 2025, Richards had recovered.

‘I started going through my divorce 10 days after I had surgery,’ she revealed.

She also said her ex-partner was the one who revealed she’d had surgery before she was prepared to share that information herself.

She said her ex-husband revealed she’d had a facelift during their divorce. He then arranged for a photographer to wait outside a clinic where she was getting a treatment for her scars.

Richards explained that someone falsely claimed she’d had a bad facelift. She’d been unsure if she wanted to publicly discuss having the procedure at all, but this person inadvertently revealed it.

After their split last summer, she accused Phypers of abuse, allegations he has vehemently denied.

Their divorce proceedings are still ongoing.

During a recent court appearance about their divorce, Richards was instructed to pay her soon-to-be ex-husband $5,000 each month in temporary support.

In 2022, Phyper was allegedly involved in domestic violence incidents and is now facing four felony charges: two for harming a spouse and two for using force or threats to discourage someone from being a witness.

In late 2025, Richards was granted a five-year restraining order against Phypers.
