Road to the Finals

In the LEC Season Finals 2024, a total of six League of Legends esports teams have qualified. Each team took a unique route to reach this prestigious event.

G2 Esports

On one side, it’s undeniable that G2 Esports stands as the top team in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC). They have dominated all three splits, leaving little room for debate about their dominance. However, the recent LEC Summer 2024 split has highlighted some vulnerabilities in their gameplay.

In the initial part of the regular season, they suffered some defeats. After the final match against Fnatic, they found themselves in a lower tier. Moreover, the League of Legends finals that G2 Esports emerged victorious from, were not entirely as per their pre-planned strategy.

In the lower-bracket final and grand final, G2 found themselves playing defense more often than not; they were mostly reacting to their opponents’ moves instead of being in control. The Summer match against Fnatic was precarious, with a catastrophic outcome looming large. However, G2 managed to pull off some remarkable clutch plays to secure the victory.

For the League of Legends World Championship 2024, G2 Esports secured their spot through the LEC Summer. This means that just two more qualifying positions remain for European teams in the tournament.

Fnatic

As a long-time fan of League of Legends and esports enthusiast, I have followed Fnatic’s journey through the seasons with great interest. This year has been quite a rollercoaster ride for them, with both highs and lows that mirrored my own life experiences at times. The grand finals against G2 this Spring and Summer were heartbreaking setbacks, but I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in their progress compared to the Winter split, where they ended up finishing 4th after losing to MAD Lions KOI in the lower-bracket semi-final. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I know that Fnatic will come back stronger next season.

As a die-hard Fnatic fan, it sometimes seems like we’re destined to play the role of the runner-up in the LEC. Despite our players delivering impressive performances, we frequently fall short due to our own errors.

Team BDS

It’s particularly frustrating for Team BDS (a fictional team), as they ended up third in every split during the 2024 season, even though their performances were quite commendable in each event.

As a proud member of Team BDS in the LEC Summer 2024 split, we ruled the regular season alongside SK Gaming, setting the stage ablaze with our electrifying performances. However, in the playoffs, we found ourselves battling it out in the lower bracket final. Alas, our journey came to a halt at the hands of formidable opponents, G2 Esports, who dealt us a tough but well-deserved defeat. But fear not, for we’ve learned from this battle and will rise again stronger than ever!

MAD Lions KOI

These individuals could easily be hailed as heroes of the LEC Summer 2024 Regular Season, yet it’s important to note that MAD Lions KOI initially faced challenges and subsequently managed to overcome them.

The team nearly faced elimination from the playoffs, but with the possibility looming, MAD Lions KOI triumphed in the decisive game against Rogue. They also managed to win two tie-breaking matches, one each against both Rogue and Team Vitality.

In simpler terms, the playoffs weren’t as thrilling or fruitful for MAD Lions KOI. They were knocked out following their defeats against Team BDS and Karmine Corp. However, they managed to secure a spot in the LEC Season Finals 2024 due to the accumulated championship points.

SK Gaming

In the LEC Summer 2024 Regular Season, SK Gaming achieved their best performance by ending up in first place, however, they had to share this top spot with Team BDS.

As a gamer, I believe we’ve got what it takes to soar as high as Fnatic, Team Vitality, and Karmine Corp in the 2024 playoffs, but only if they allow us to. The stage is set for any other team to make their mark here too.

In the Season Finals, SK Gaming is already in the lower bracket.

GIANTX

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to announce that our team, GIANTX, has made it to the LEC Season Finals 2024! We earned this spot by racking up some solid championship points. However, our performance in the splits hasn’t been mind-blowing, but we’re determined to prove ourselves on the big stage. Let’s see if we can turn things around and make a name for ourselves among the top teams!

During the winter and spring seasons, players were knocked out following the initial two games each. In the summer split, however, GIANTX managed to win their second match against Team Heretics, but unfortunately, they were eliminated by their third opponent.
