Helen Flanagan reveals the real reason she split from fiancé Scott Sinclair after 13 years together
As a seasoned observer of celebrity lives, I must say that Helen’s journey is one that resonates deeply with me. Her experiences with co-parenting, dating apps, and her stint on Celebs Go Dating are all too familiar to many women who juggle personal life and public image.
On Wednesday, Helen Flanagan disclosed the genuine cause for her breakup with partner Scott Sinclair, sharing insights into their relationship.
In 2022, after being together for 13 years, the actress who once starred on Coronation Street, now aged 34, and her 35-year-old footballer partner went their separate ways. They have three children: Matilda, who is eight, Delilah who is five, and Charlie, their three-year-old son.
Despite their deep affection towards each other, it’s been acknowledged by both parties that they simply don’t get along well anymore.
On Charlotte Dawson’s Naughty Corner podcast, Helen expressed that she continues to have strong feelings for the person, but they do not get along well together.
It appears we don’t see eye-to-eye, there’s no real connection between us. However, I have this feeling that Scott, though he might not acknowledge it, does care for me deeply and loves me.
I’ve had enough; I can’t imagine entering another relationship filled with constant disagreements. I simply don’t have the energy for another dispute.
In my case as a woman, I’ve always strived to keep things going with the children’s father and I’ve certainly put in the effort. However, if I were in another relationship, it would need to be straightforward because I simply don’t have the emotional energy left; I’ve already given all I could with the father of my kids.
Helen added that co-parenting is ‘amusing’ since they strive to keep their distance to prevent disagreements when their children are present.
She continued: ‘I’ve been a single mum for two years now. Co-parenting is hilarious, we were together for 13 years.
The previous occasion when we met, I found it amusing and teased him gently since he wore a bucket hat. It seemed like he was attempting to suppress his laughter as well.
‘He lives in Bath and I live in North Manchester so its about five hours and we meet in Birmingham to exchange things and the kids.
1) He’s tossing items into my footwear, and in response, I began mocking his bucket hat to create a more relaxed atmosphere.
We make an effort to avoid staying under the same roof at the same time, as our main concern is the well-being of the kids. I strive to create a positive atmosphere for them, and I don’t wish for them to witness any disagreements between us.
In another part of our conversation, Helen, currently engrossed in shooting a fresh season of Celebs Go Dating, openly shared that she was once a member of the exclusive celebrity dating platform, Raya.
She said: ‘Being single is, wow. There are some awful men out there.
I had Raya installed on my phone, and Matilda, my pet, used to climb onto it and browse through the men on the dating app, finding amusement in them. She’d then return from school and casually remark, “My mom uses a boyfriend app.”
As someone who has dabbled in online dating, I can attest to the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with it. While I no longer have the app at my disposal, I did embark on a few dates from there, and though the experience was somewhat disconcerting at times, it was undeniably amusing at first. The humorous interactions and unexpected encounters made for some entertaining anecdotes to share with friends. But as time went by, I began to feel a bit uneasy about the authenticity of my connections, and ultimately decided to part ways with the app. However, I can’t help but chuckle at the memories I created during those initial, hilarious exchanges.
Following her recent interview, it has been disclosed that Helen, after allegedly breaching one of the agency’s rules on Celeb Go Dating, came very close to being removed from the show. This revelation was made by dating expert Anna Williamson, aged 42, who works for the show.
Regarding that anticipated TV show coming up this year, Anna shared with The Sun: “I’m really fond of Helen.”
As someone who has been following ‘Celebs Go Dating’ since its inception, I must say that Helen’s storyline takes the cake for the most gripping cliffhanger pivot we’ve ever seen on the show. It’s a testament to her unique experiences and the way she navigates her personal life, making it a must-watch for fans of the series.
Two weeks back, Helen came very close to being dismissed from the agency due to a significant action that violated all the established regulations of the organization.
Helen will appear on the next series of Celebs Go Dating alongside a host of other famous faces.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to bits! The next wave of episodes I’ll be glued to has the irresistible Love Island sensation, Chris Taylor, and Ella Morgan gracing our screens. Here’s an interesting twist – Ella used to date JJ Slater, who, by the way, is currently smitten with Katie Price! Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
Among the other celebrities seeking romance are Pete Wicks from TOWIE, ex-Hollyoaks actress Jamelia, and reality TV personality Chloe Ferry from Geordie Shore.
The cast will be completed by influencers Lauryn Goodman and Tristan Phipps.
