As someone who has walked a similar path to Jake Roche, I can empathize with his struggle and understand the pain of losing it all after tasting success. It’s a bitter pill to swallow when your dreams crumble before you, leaving you feeling like a failure. However, I firmly believe that every setback is an opportunity for growth and learning.

As the offspring of Coleen Nolan, a prominent figure on Loose Women, and Shane Richie from EastEnders, I was predestined for a life in the entertainment industry.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting on Jake Roche’s journey – from achieving the pinnacle of success with a chart-topping hit and sharing stages with music titan Ed Sheeran, to finding himself in a starkly different circumstance, needing to seek refuge in his mother’s garage. It serves as a powerful reminder that even those who seem to have it all can experience significant setbacks, underscoring the importance of resilience and adaptability.

In an interview with The Times, he shared the story behind landing a historic contract as the frontman of pop-rock group Rixton, socializing with Justin Bieber, and having a romantic relationship with Little Mix member Jesy Nelson. However, everything changed dramatically when his life was turned upside down.

In my case, I, once a renowned singer, found myself at a crossroads, compelled to seek assistance and return to the comfort of my childhood home. The experience left me grappling with feelings of inadequacy and failure.

Jake elaborated: ‘It’s a typical tale about a young pop sensation who gains everything only to lose everything… At the close of my twenties, I experienced a profound crisis concerning life’s meaning.’

In his words, he expressed: “For my entire life, I hadn’t known failure. Each time I auditioned, I was chosen. This revelation left me utterly shocked…”

Jake embarked on his acting journey by treading a path similar to his father’s, securing parts in the TV series Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

He later showed an interest in his mother’s side of the industry and launched his music career.

In 2014, Jake found himself with countless opportunities before him following the signing of a remarkable contract and sharing stages with stars like Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato during their global tours.

However, his chart-topping single “Me and My Broken Heart” didn’t ensure lasting success for him, as he continued to tour and even shared a living space with Ed Sheeran.

He tried to convince his family it was a hiccup but the reality was that after six years of back to back bookings, interest in him had dried up.

His singer was hit again after his relationship with Jesy broke down in 2016.

The couple, who had been engaged, parted ways, resulting in Jake moving in with another pop star.

He shared: “I parted ways with Jesy and now reside at Ed Sheeran’s place… I believe he [Ed] might have thought something along the lines of, ‘I’m slightly concerned about this fellow.'”

Many individuals visit beaches in Thailand and take LSD, an experience I unexpectedly had in Ed Sheeran’s backyard…

Jake confessed that he feels remorseful about his current situation with the band, and not achieving greater success given his background in the entertainment industry.

In 2022, when someone identified him at a bar, he confessed that he had been residing in his mother’s garage on Universal credit and remarked, “I consider myself a disappointment.”

Instead, the fan offered him comfort, saying, “Life has its challenges for everyone, and you’ll overcome yours as well.”

Currently, the performer is making efforts to launch his career by presenting his personal musical production titled “Neporrhoids!” at the Edinburgh Fringe. This work chronicles his transformation, from being signed with Universal Music to relying on Universal Credit for support.
