Strictly is drawn into another fix row as rumoured contestant Sarah Hadland's West End background is revealed but actress insists trained dancers are 'fabulous to watch' on the BBC show

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for talent and a deep appreciation for dance, I must say that Sarah Hadland is undeniably poised to shine on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing stage. Her extensive West End experience and lifelong dedication to dance make her an ideal candidate for the show.

As someone with a background in dance and a passion for performance, I’m thrilled to hear that actress Sarah Hadland is rumored to be joining the cast of Strictly Come Dancing this year. With her extensive West End experience, I have no doubt that she will bring a unique energy and style to the ballroom. I can only imagine the excitement and nerves she must be feeling as she prepares for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us on the dance floor!

From the tender age of three, Hadland embarked on her dance adventure, receiving training throughout these years. Later, she attended the Laine Theatre Arts College in Epsom, sharing this educational journey with future pop icon Victoria Beckham, who was also honing her skills in dance and music at the same institution.

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that prior to my rise as an acclaimed actress, I graced the stages of West End productions such as Cats and Grease. It is now public knowledge that for over a decade, the BBC has been extending invitations for me to participate in their esteemed shows.

At 53 years old, Hadland, known for her role as Stevie alongside Miranda in the acclaimed BBC sitcom, confesses that she identifies as a devoted admirer of the show and recognizes why dance-trained contestants, like herself, might face criticism.

She mentioned that she finds it captivating to observe others embarking on a journey, and it’s equally delightful to witness those who have been trained and excel at their skills.

From my own experience, I’ve noticed that people can become quite passionate about certain topics, and this skill-level issue is no exception. However, it’s truly delightful to witness individuals who excel at their craft, as their mastery adds an extra layer of enjoyment to our lives.

She stated: ‘In my opinion, the essence is what they possess – some celebrities may have undergone some training, yet that doesn’t diminish their appeal while watching. Similarly, there’s Jeremy Vine whom I will consistently support because for me, he embodies dance, which is about someone expressing themselves passionately, regardless of skill level, and clearly, he does just that.’

‘So how can I not enjoy it and be enthused to dance myself cos I just think ‘that’s fantastic!’

In 2014, she penned and acted in a humorous documentary-style production titled “Born to Dance,” which revolved around a dance school. This work was inspired by her personal encounters in the world of dance. One character was loosely modeled after a choreographer she knew, who was known for being extremely aggressive and bitter, making her intrigued by this individual.

She mentioned that she has been invited several times to participate in Strictly, and it’s quite an honor. However, as an actor, it presents a unique challenge for her, almost like needing to pinch herself to make sure it’s real.

As someone who’s spent years immersed in the world of entertainment, I’ve always been torn about participating in a reality show. On one hand, I’m deeply passionate about the genre and have learned so much from watching others navigate its challenges. On the other hand, I’m hesitant to step into that spotlight myself due to my admiration for the shows I love. So far, I’ve resisted the temptation, but if I were to ever do a reality show, it would only be this one – the one that has inspired me and shaped my perspective on life and entertainment.

In regards to my performance on the show, I feel like I could be in a bit of a tricky situation. Since it’s been quite some time since I last danced, there may be an impression that I’m more skilled than I truly am.

Miranda Hart’s fellow actor and pal shares the same enthusiasm for Strictly Come Dancing. Hadland expressed, “We both enjoy watching it and being part of its fandom. I find it delightful when we engage in discussions about Strictly.”

As a devoted admirer, I’ve had the privilege of gracing the audience of Strictly Come Dancing on numerous occasions, and even stepped into the spotlight for its spin-off show, It Takes Two.

For this year’s announced participants, we have pop artist Toyah Willcox, Tasha Ghouri, a former Love Island contestant and trained dancer, reality television personality Pete Wicks, the operatic voice of Go Compare, Wynne Evans, JLS member JB Gill, and visually impaired comedian Chris McCausland.

It is believed that the participating team might consist of six women and nine men, an atypical gender balance possibly due to challenges in securing female stars following the controversy surrounding Graziano di Prima who was involved in a physical altercation with his partner Zara McDermott last year. This could have impacted recruitment efforts.

According to recent reports, the BBC is looking into claims that dance professional Giovanni Pernice mistreated his famous partner Amanda Abbington during the previous year. An update on this matter is anticipated soon.
