Jack Black makes bombshell announcement about Tenacious D’s future – after their Australian tour was cancelled due to shock Trump comments
As a die-hard fan with a lifetime of Tenacious D tunes echoing through my heart, this recent turn of events has left me reeling like a fish out of water. I’ve followed Jack Black and Kyle Gass since their humble beginnings, and to see them in the midst of such turmoil is truly disheartening.
Jack Black recently stunned fans with an unexpected revelation concerning the future of his group, Tenacious D. Their planned tour across Australia and New Zealand, which was scheduled for last month, unfortunately had to be called off.
The lead singer from School of Rock, who’s 54 years old, had to cancel his Spicy Meat Ball Tour due to a distasteful comment by his bandmate Kyle Gass regarding an attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life.
On Wednesday, Black posted a message regarding the musical group following his announcement that future creative projects would be temporarily paused.
‘I love Tenacious D… We had to take a break, but I love the D,’ he told Entertainment Tonight.
‘Everybody takes a break sometimes. We’ll be back,’ he added.
On the evening of July 14, in Sydney, Australia, Tenacious D performed live. During the show, Black surprised Kyle Gass with a birthday cake, inviting him to make a wish after blowing out the candles.
Gass replied: ‘Don’t miss Trump next time.’
The crowd mostly responded with cheering and laughing, with just a few disappointed reactions.

However, Gass was heavily criticised over the remark.
Apologies for any misunderstandings that may have arisen regarding my impromptu remark during my performance in Sydney. In hindsight, I recognize it as an unacceptable, risky, and regrettable error.
‘I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone.
In retrospect, I realize that my actions have not always been guided by wisdom or good judgment. As someone who has faced adversity and hardship throughout my life, I should have learned from those experiences to make better decisions. However, I failed in this instance, and for that, I am deeply sorry.
The duo, Black and Gass, announced they would no longer be performing the remaining six shows of their band’s tour in both Australia and New Zealand. Later, they mentioned that their upcoming creative projects are currently on standby.

Upon Gass’ remarks, I observed a surge of contrasting responses online. In response to those comments, Kyle Sandilands decided to permanently blacklist Tenacious D from his radio program.
In an appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O show, radio personality Sandilands expressed: “That individual called for Trump’s demise. To our interview coordinators, I will decline any future Tenacious D meetings.”
It leaves me feeling troubled when someone expresses a desire for another person’s death, especially when the targeted individual narrowly escapes an attempt on their life. In all seriousness, such individuals are, without mincing words, utterly despicable human beings.
