After winning at the Olympic games, renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk showered praise upon the young champion.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, he shared footage of Arisa’s final and winning run.

In the caption, he praised the young skateboarding champion on her achievement.

As a seasoned snowboarding enthusiast with over two decades of riding under my belt, I must say that Arisa Trew’s final run in the women’s park finals this afternoon was nothing short of extraordinary. The grace and precision she displayed on her board were a testament to years of hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport. It was an honor to witness such a mesmerizing performance, and I couldn’t help but feel genuinely elated when she landed that final jump to secure a well-deserved gold medal. Bravo, Arisa! I’d like to express my gratitude to each competitor for helping skateboarding evolve towards an era that embraces equality and inclusivity.

Trew found herself taken aback by Hawk’s post, as she had been moved by his influence in encouraging her to pursue sports, and later assisted her in becoming the first woman to execute his renowned 720, 900, and a two-and-a-half revolution aerial spin.

She expressed to Eddie McGuire on Channel Nine that it’s genuinely inspiring to listen to Tony, as he serves as a source of inspiration for everyone.

‘No one would be here without what he did in skateboarding,’ she added.

Arisa’s victory broke Sandra Morgan’s long-standing record as the youngest Australian athlete to earn a gold medal, a title that had been held for 68 years before Arisa came along.

14-year-old and 6-month veteran swimmer Morgan claimed gold at the 1956 Melbourne Games, whereas presently, Arisa is 14 years old and has been around for 3 months.

As I watched the thrilling conclusion unfold, I couldn’t help but feel my heart race. A cinematic climax indeed! Look who just took center stage – none other than our radiant champion.

‘Arisa Trew, you absolute champion. I’ll tell you what. Gold looks great on you, mate.’

The 14-year-old had to fight back from a nightmare start, falling on her first run, but responded with an incredible final effort which scored her an unassailable score of 93.18.

‘I’m just so excited,’ Arisa told Nine. ‘It’s like just so many emotions at once.

On my initial run, I stumbled and found myself thinking, “It’s so frustrating to trip up during your very first run as you’re aiming for a safe, practice run.”

However, my coach essentially told me, “Trev, it’s full speed ahead.” To which I replied, “Absolutely, why not?” Essentially, I responded with a ‘go big or go home’ attitude.

Arisa’s triumph takes Australia’s total gold medal haul to 14.

Fellow Australian skateboarder Ruby Trew, no relation to Arisa, failed to make the final.

16-year-old Arisa Trew is both the youngest member of Australia’s team competing in Paris and holds the title as the seventh-youngest Olympian in Australia’s history.
