As a lifestyle expert with years of experience navigating the tumultuous waters of showbiz, I can confidently say that Lizzie Cundy’s tales from her days as a model and ex-WAG are nothing short of captivating. Her anecdotes about dining with Tom Cruise and befriending Simon Cowell through unconventional means (like sharing a VIP restroom) are the stuff of legends.
In a recent chat on the My Dirty Laundry podcast, Lizzie Cundy has shared some of her most significant Hollywood insights to date.
The previous model, who was married to a athlete and has two kids, aged 56, shared that she spent an evening with Tom Cruise one time. This happened because Tom had decided to skip a film premiere for a meal instead.
She shared that she was frequently sent to Los Angeles by ITV to conduct star interviews during red carpet events, even having the opportunity to interview none other than Tom Cruise himself.
It appears there was an unspecified situation happening, and I responded with a nod and remained silent. Later, during the red carpet event (following this incident), he had a grand premiere for the film “Edge of Tomorrow,” and he approached me first for conversation before his interview.
After securing a fantastic job interview, I found myself not wanting to watch the movie that followed. I just didn’t feel like it. Since I was with my son at the time, I suggested we grab something to eat instead.
As I stroll through the restaurant, who should I bump into but Tom Cruise! Turns out, even he wasn’t keen on watching his own film.
He gives a whistle as I am strolling, trying to locate a table. Then he calls out, inviting me, saying, “Hey, Hey, come this way.”
Initially, I stepped out since I was inside a restaurant, my son, who was outside earlier, then entered to find me. To my surprise, I was seated with Tom Cruise and the film’s director, and he graciously treated us all to dinner.
During Lizzie’s latest interview, she revealed that she first met her now good friend Simon Cowell when he burst in on her while she was using the VIP loo in Cipriani’s.
She exclaimed: ‘I see Simon over there, while I’m seated on the toilet, I reacted with a surprised ‘Nooo!’. Then, he casually asked, ‘Don’t I recognize you?’
1. I went over, I replied, “Actually, no, but I do recognize you.” As I pondered, I requested, “Could you please close the door?” It left me astounded.
‘Anyway, I came out the door and then he said, “Right, come and join me for a drink over there”.
‘So yeah, but that is my story of how I met Simon, but that is a long time ago.’
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share an intriguing experience that Lizzie once recounted: She spoke about an encounter with the police, yet there was more to this story than met the eye. Hidden in the trunk of her car, she had The Wrestler himself – Mickey Rourke.
He had jumped in there after they enjoyed dinner together in Mayfair, so that he wouldn’t be seen.
In her own words: “She told me, ‘He essentially said, “Lizzie, I have a new partner. I don’t wish to be seen alongside you.” I chose to interpret it as a compliment.'”
‘He had added: “Look, for your sake. She gets very angry.’
Lizzie mentioned that she unintentionally ran a red light due to being unfamiliar with her car’s power, which led to a police stop.
She pondered: ‘If they were to open the trunk, what if I found Mickey Rourke inside? Dead! What would they conclude?’
