The Orville star says production on season 4 will begin early 2025

As a seasoned gamer and sci-fi enthusiast who’s seen more than his fair share of intergalactic adventures, I can confidently say that The Orville has been a breath of fresh air in the vast cosmos of space opera. It’s like finding a hidden treasure map that leads to an uncharted island filled with friendly aliens and exciting discoveries – but without the sharks or pirates (mostly).

“The Orville” is a heartfelt tribute in the spirit of “Star Trek.” It initially aired on Fox, with seasons premiering two years apart from each other. However, for its third season, titled “New Horizons,” it moved to Hulu. This season had a larger budget and took three years to produce, finally airing in 2022.

As a dedicated fan for these past two years, I’ve been eagerly waiting and keeping my fingers crossed about the return of “The Orville.” Despite occasional glimmers of hope from actors like Scott Grimes (Gordon Malloy) and even Seth MacFarlane himself saying there will be more, nothing concrete has materialized yet. But at this year’s Star Trek Las Vegas convention, my spirits soared as I heard whispers that a fourth season is on the horizon! According to several people who attended his performance, Scott Grimes hinted that filming for the next installment might begin as early as early 2025. Here’s hoping that this time it’s not just wishful thinking, but the real deal!

Once more, what we’re seeing isn’t exactly the same as a network like Hulu or Fox officially announcing a new season of the show with teasers or confirmations, but the cast and crew seem increasingly optimistic when discussing it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this optimism translates into reality!

The Orville has a lot to cover in season 4

The Orville is a lighthearted, hopeful science fiction show centered around a team aboard a spaceship as they traverse the universe for the United Planets of Planets, encountering various cosmic predicaments, peculiar space anomalies, and personal conflicts along the way. While it bears a striking resemblance to Star Trek that sometimes borders on copyright violation, it’s still a heartwarming, creative series that merits another chance.

As a devoted fan of this series, I can’t help but feel that the next installment might be the final act. Frankly, I’m ready for a conclusion, especially after the cliffhanger at the end of season 3 with so many plot threads left hanging.

In the meantime, ship’s doctor Claire got married to her unusual partner, Isaac from Kaylon – an unexpected development for this unconventional duo. I can’t wait to learn more about their story! Here’s hoping we receive reliable updates shortly.
