As a lifelong fan of both Castlevania and Dead by Daylight, I can confidently say that this latest crossover is a match made in horror heaven! Dracula’s shapeshifting abilities and his iconic castle make him an imposing and exciting addition to the game. And Trevor Belmont’s vampire-hunting skills are sure to be a valuable asset for any team of Survivors.
The latest collaboration between “Dead by Daylight” and Castlevania has arrived! You can now play it in the public test build on Steam. Behaviour Interactive confirmed that the official launch of the Castlevania chapter for “Dead by Daylight” will take place on August 27.
Dracula serves as the initial shapeshifting character for “Dead by Daylight,” marking it as the survival game’s inaugural vampire. In his vampire form, Dracula from Castlevania summons flames to incinerate victims, while in his bat form, he stealthily tracks Survivors and swiftly traverses large distances. Additionally, Dracula can transform into a wolf, allowing him to track Survivors by their scent.

As a gamer, I’m totally stoked that ol’ Count Dracula is hauling his entire haunted castle to “Dead by Daylight”! When Dracula serves as the Killer in a game on an original “Dead by Daylight” map, you’ll find his legendary castle standing ominously in the distance. You won’t catch a glimpse of Drac’s digs on licensed maps like those based on Dungeons & Dragons’ Forgotten Ruins or the wreckage of the Nostromo from “Alien”.
In the contrasting gameplay style of the multiplayer mode in “Dead by Daylight,” we have a fresh Survivor character, Trevor Belmont. Behaviour Interactive describes Trevor as having an instinctive talent for locating allies and working cooperatively within teams. Additionally, he boasts extraordinary skills as a vampire hunter, although the specifics remain unclear. First appearing in Konami’s Castlevania series with “Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse” back in 1989, Trevor has since been featured in other games such as “Castlevania: Curse of Darkness” and “Castlevania Judgment.”

Recently, Konami has been sharing its characters and intellectual property, especially with games reminiscent of its most recognized series. For instance, content based on Castlevania has been made available for the action role-playing survival game V Rising and the action roguelike Dead Cells. Moreover, Contra DLC was recently launched in Vampire Survivors. In 2020, Konami’s Silent Hill franchise teamed up with Dead by Daylight, adding Heather Mason and Pyramid Hill to the list of playable characters, both as Survivors and Killers.
The horror game Dead by Daylight can now be played on Android devices, iPhones, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One consoles, as well as the newer Xbox Series X.
