BBC newsreader marries colleague and shares wedding photo
As a long-time follower of Karin Giannone and Nick Buckley’s journey at BBC News, I couldn’t be happier for them on their big day! It’s always heartwarming to see two hardworking individuals find love and happiness amidst their busy lives.
BBC newsreader Karin Giannone has married her colleague Nick Buckley in an intimate ceremony.
Initially dating from 2019, they exchanged vows on a trip to California in 2022, yet the event was not recognized legally in the UK. However, they’ve officially legitimized their marriage with a ceremony attended by their loved ones.
On this special day, I couldn’t help but share a momentous photo from our wedding on my old platform, which was once known as Twitter. In the picture, you can see us laughing happily at the altar, and I aptly labeled it: “Now officially husband and wife!”
In the picture, you’ll notice that Buckley is donning a smart blue suit and a golden necktie, in contrast, his newly-wed spouse is resplendent in a delicate, white lace wedding dress, adorned with sparkling silver accessories.
Giannone shared the photo on her Instagram, captioning it: “The beautiful moment of our wedding blessing. One of the most memorable days in my life.”
People eagerly expressed their best wishes in the comment area, with one saying: “Terrific! You’re absolutely radiant. Heartfelt congratulations to both of you!”
1. First comment: “You two look amazing! It seems like you had an incredible day worth cherishing.”
As a fellow enthusiast, I join in on the celebration: “Bravo, Karin and Nick! Your photograph is stunningly captivating. It seems like I could even hear the joyous laughter it must have inspired.”
Born in South Africa, Giannone relocated to London where she handled diverse shifts for Sky News. In 2005, she transitioned to BBC News. Notably, she presents the morning news program, “World News Today,” on the BBC World News channel.
Giannone has consistently shared significant news events with BBC audiences. In 2013, after the passing of Nelson Mandela, she provided live reports from South Africa. Furthermore, she was the anchor for our coverage during the French presidential election in 2017.
It became official in February 2023 that Giannone would no longer be the presenter, as part of the BBC’s strategy to revamp their news channel content by combining two distinct channels into a single one.
