HoK X EWC 2024: KPL Dream Team won without dropping a single game

As a seasoned esports enthusiast with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the KPL Dream Team selection process is nothing short of inspiring. Having followed the Honor of Kings scene for years, I can attest to the sheer skill and dedication these players possess.

In every match, the powerful Chinese team achieves a perfect victory in just 11 minutes and 9 seconds on average.

In the Honor of Kings (HoK) X EWC 2024, or midseason tournament, the formidable KPL Dream Team, made up of players from five separate teams, ruled supreme with an unbeaten streak, not losing a single match throughout the competition.

From August 1st to the 5th, I found myself in Riyadh for an epic gaming tournament. Twelve teams were part of this competition, but the KPL Dream Team HOK truly shone, winning a grand prize of $1,000,000 USD and an extra $50,000 USD for their MVP, Yinuo. What a thrilling experience!

KPL Dream Team triumphs with 100% win rates

In the HoK X EWC 2024 tournament, the KPL Dream Team, boasting five seasoned players from the realm of Honor of Kings’ inventor, stepped in as clear favorites. With a flawless 100% win record, they managed to complete each match in an average of 11 minutes and 9 seconds, while their swiftest victory was accomplished in a remarkable 7 minutes and 46 seconds.

In this recent international tournament, which marked the debut of Chinese teams following the worldwide release of Honor of Kings in June 2024, it was evidently clear that the KPL Dream Team showcased a notable difference in skill level compared to other participating international teams. The tournament served as a testament to the exceptional talent within the KPL Dream Team.

Apart from receiving a million dollars USD in prize money, the KPL Dream Team also gained 1,000 EWC club points, which raised their club ranking to fifth place, as of August 4.

In October of 2024, LGD Gaming MY, the first runner-up, has successfully qualified for the Honor of Kings Championship 2024, which will be held in Indonesia.

What is the KPL Dream Team?

In the top-tier King Pro League (KPL), China’s premier HoK franchise tournament, they assemble their elite Dream Team using a thorough selection method. This team symbolizes the league’s rich history, exceptional skills, and international impact, reflecting the ethos of Honor of Kings esports.

In this process, players are chosen for a team called the “Dream Team” through a mix of fan votes and professional assessments. Their overall scores from both sources determine their rankings. The best player at each position, along with the five highest-ranked players who don’t fit into those positions, make up ten individuals. Additionally, the two top coaches are also included, making the Dream Team a total of twelve members.

In the EWC 2024 tournament, the following players were chosen: Fly (from Rogue Warriors), Pang (of Wolves), Rong (representing eStar Pro), Yinuo (part of AG Super Play), and NoFear (from JD Gaming).
