See the official first footage from The Last of Us season 2, coming in 2025!

As a die-hard fan of post-apocalyptic dramas, I’ve seen my fair share of desolate landscapes and the undead hordes that roam them. But when it comes to crafting a gripping narrative filled with emotion, suspense, and just the right amount of gore, nothing quite compares to ‘The Last of Us‘. And after catching a glimpse of season 2’s teaser, I can confidently say that my survival instincts are tingling with anticipation.

Tonight marks the finale of “House of the Dragon” season 2, and HBO isn’t letting the captivated audience pass without a show. In addition to shows premiering this year, they also previewed upcoming series set for release next year. Notably, we got our first glimpse of “The Last of Us” season 2, starring Pedro Pascal reprising his role as Joel and Bella Ramsey returning as Ellie, two resilient figures navigating the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. Predictably, they saved this exciting sneak peek for last.

And here’s just the footage from The Last of Us, isloated:

In the upcoming second season of our TV series, we’ll draw inspiration from a nighttime barn dance scene directly from Naughty Dog’s video game “The Last of Us: Part II.” Since this game has a more complex narrative than its predecessor, it will take several seasons to fully adapt it.

The upcoming teaser features Joel engaged in a discussion with Catherine O’Hara’s character, leaving us guessing about her role. Although viewers have theories, her identity remains unclear. In the previous season finale, Joel made a heart-wrenching decision to save Ellie from a group of physicians who intended to operate on her to cure the zombie outbreak. The catch was that the procedure would result in her death. Unable to accept this outcome, Joel eliminated the doctors, rescued Ellie, and later deceived her about the events following her recovery.

That’s undeniably going to lead to trouble for someone. Apart from O’Hara, the trailer introduces Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, a militia leader in Seattle; he voiced this character in the original game too, just a heads up. Furthermore, there are numerous action sequences: people wielding firearms, carrying torches, and let’s not forget, zombies hungry for your flesh and ready to inject spores into your innards.

I’d like to register my interest for everything related to it! The second season of “The Last of Us” is set to air on HBO and Max around 2025, though an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed as of yet. I’m speculating that it will premiere in the early part of the year.
