Dr. Doom and the other MVPs of Marvel Comics Blood Hunt

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the Blood Hunt crossover by Marvel Comics was nothing short of spectacular! The climactic battle between Miles Morales, Brielle Brooks, and Varnae was the highlight of my recent reading journey.

The cross-over storyline between Marvel Comics titled “Blood Hunt” has concluded. In the final moments, Varnae, the original vampire, was vanquished by the joint efforts of Miles Morales and Brielle Brooks. Simultaneously, Dr. Doom cast a spell to reintroduce the sun’s light on Earth, an accomplishment that could be credited only to Stephen Strange yielding his role as Sorcerer Supreme to him.

After the conclusion of Blood Hunt, let’s take a retrospective glance at its Most Valuable Players (MVPs). Who were the champions who ensured victory and safeguarded lives? We’ll begin by acknowledging an underappreciated hero first. So, who was this unrecognized superstar?

Sam Wilson

Initially, Varnae’s Bloodcoven aimed at transforming Sam Wilson into a vampire, intending to render Captain America powerless. Should this have succeeded, the Earth might have lost all hope. However, the Avengers devised a strategy to reverse their plot.

As a seasoned superhero myself, I can attest to the immense impact that Sam Wilson’s announcement had on the villainous Varnae and his coven. Having faced my fair share of battles against formidable foes, I know all too well how crucial it is to maintain morale and unity among our ranks. In this instance, Wilson’s declaration served as a powerful rallying cry that kept the Avengers united and focused. Without it, the outcome may very well have been drastically different, perhaps even disastrous. It’s moments like these when I am reminded of the importance of communication in the world of superheroes – not just to defeat our enemies, but to keep hope alive for those who look up to us as heroes.

The Midnight Mission

The group known as The Midnight Mission – consisting of Tigra, Soldier, 8-Ball, House of Shadows, Hunter’s Moon, and Reese – diligently pursued Marc Spector’s mission to safeguard nighttime travelers. Under perpetual darkness, they never ceased their duties. Fortunately, they were well-prepared to handle the task at hand.

In New York, Reese, 8-Ball, and Soldier safeguarded their neighborhood and returned as many people as possible to the Midnight Mission (also known as House of Shadows). Concurrently, Tigra and Hunter’s Moon embarked on a mission to Asgard with the objective of liberating Khonshu. Their expedition to Asgard revived Marc Spector, providing a significant advantage in facing off against numerous former avatars of Khonshu, who were battling vampires.

Dracula

It’s surprising to find Dracula’s name on this list, given that one might expect him to be thrilled about vampires dominating the world. However, in the comic “Avengers: War of the Vampires” by Jason Aaron, it is revealed that he had established a domain for himself in Europe and didn’t want anyone spoiling his efforts. This predicament led him to assist the heroes in their quest to save the world.

Essential for their triumph was the knowledge that Brielle had to slay Varnae, who they believed was Blade. However, even with Dr. Doom’s enchantment (to be discussed further), success would not have been achieved without Dracula’s intervention.

The X-Men

Regardless of any overlap, you can always depend on the X-Men to make an appearance, specifically characters like Wolverine (Logan and Laura), Magik, Psylocke, and Jubilee. These individuals have been involved in numerous escapades where they’ve defended innocents or prevented more vampires from emerging.

Different heroes linked their miniseries with “Blood Hunt”, but what truly stood out was the X-Men series. Each comic book in this collection showcased the extraordinary measures the X-Men took to protect the innocent, despite facing hatred and fear. I strongly suggest giving these a read.

Reed Richards and Alicia Masters

In the spin-off storyline of the “Fantastic Four,” the link wasn’t just casual; it served as a pivotal foundation for Ryan North’s narrative. Reed Richards, in this isolated scenario, demonstrated an unwavering commitment to avoiding harm to others, even if it meant his own demise. This selfless act has been a recurring theme in Reed’s character for many years, but it felt uniquely impactful in this instance because he was without the rest of the Fantastic Four. He pushed himself to the absolute limit, straining his abilities almost beyond repair. Fortunately, Alicia Masters was by his side during this ordeal.

1. Alicia was instrumental in ensuring everyone’s safety.

Ultimately, Reed maintains his belief that vampires are not of supernatural origin, yet this perspective is irrelevant. Regardless, they continued to safeguard people.

Brielle and Miles Morales

As a devoted fan, let me rephrase that exciting tale in my own words:

Doctor Doom and Stephen Strange

Even with everyone contributing, this can’t be achieved without the two most powerful sorcerers on the planet. Stephen Strange reluctantly acknowledged Doctor Doom’s wisdom. He was compelled to bestow upon Doom the position of Sorcerer Supreme (in issue #4 of Blood Hunt). For Doctor Doom, he lacked only one thing: the title. With it, he restored light to the world.

Indeed, he felt compelled to make it clear that he was Earth’s champion. This marked the beginning of a significant phase we could term “One World in Peril,” an intriguing title that coincidentally emerged after Marvel unveiled Robert Downey Jr. as their Dr. Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
