Chicago PD brings in New Amsterdam star for season 12

As a longtime fan of the One Chicago universe, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Toya Turner joining Chicago PD as a series regular! With her diverse roles across Grey’s Anatomy, Empire, and even our very own Chicago Med and Fire, she’s no stranger to emergency services. And let’s face it, the woman can handle hectic situations with a grace that makes us all green with envy.

New Amsterdam star Toya Turner has joined the upcoming season of Chicago PD.

Experienced with emergency services, Turner has been known for portraying the recurring character of nurse Gabrielle in New Amsterdam. She’s poised to take on a regular role in the upcoming twelfth season of Chicago PD.

As a gamer speaking, I’ve got some exciting news! TVLine reports that I’ll be stepping into the role of patrol officer Kiana Cook in an upcoming series. Just like in my favorite action games, Kiana thrives on the adrenaline rush and high-stakes nature of her job. She’s a pro at staying calm under pressure, making her a valuable asset when things get hectic. Can’t wait to dive into this character!

Devotees of the “One Chicago” collection might recall Turner from her guest appearances on “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire,” where she portrayed distinct characters. Additionally, she has made notable appearances in hit shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Mick,” “Easy,” and “Empire.”

The shows within the “Chicago” trilogy have experienced significant changes in their main casts lately, welcoming some new faces while saying goodbye to others.

In the final episode of its eleventh season, the police drama Chicago PD said goodbye to Detective Hailey Upton, portrayed by Tracy Spiridakos, after a seven-season run playing this character.

In the upcoming season 13 of “Chicago Fire,” Dermot Mulroney is poised to join the team as the new fire chief. He will portray Chief Dom Pascal, replacing Chief Wallace Boden, played by Eamon Walker. Notably, Walker chose to depart from his role in the season 12 finale, having been a mainstay on the show since its debut in 2012.

During season 12, the characters portrayed by Rome Flynn as Derrick Gibson and Kara Killmer as Sylvie Brett departed as well.

In the latest news from “Chicago Med,” it was revealed that Dominic Rains will not be reprising his character Dr Crockett Marcel in the upcoming season 10. Despite this departure, fans can look forward to seeing original cast members such as S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, and Marlyne Barrett make their return to the series.

These shows – Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med – are aired on NBC and Peacock within the United States, while Sky Witness is their broadcast channel in the UK.
