SCREAMBOX releases additions to August schedule, including horror comedy We Are Zombies

As a seasoned horror enthusiast with over two decades of spine-tingling experiences under my belt, let me tell you that August is shaping up to be a ghoul-tastic month for us fright fanatics on SCREAMBOX! The lineup is nothing short of terrifyingly tantalizing, with a mix of old favorites and fresh originals that will have us hiding under the covers (or maybe just the blankets, if we’re feeling brave).

Screambox is set to add a wealth of fresh content to its platform in August, including some beloved classics and brand-new productions. Regardless if you’re a fan of edge-of-your-seat thrillers, intense gore, or witty horror comedies, Screambox promises to offer plenty of chilling entertainment for every horror enthusiast this August.

August 9:

“The Enthusiast”

August 13:

“We’re Sorta-Dead Zombies”

August 23:

In “The Retaliators,” written by Michael Lombardi, the protagonist, Pastor John Bishop, experiences a tragic event when his teenage daughter is brutally murdered. This devastation causes him to largely lose faith, leading him on a path of revenge. He finds an ally in Detective Jed Sawyer, portrayed by Marc Menchaca, who shares a similar mission. “The Retaliators” is a gripping, violent film that left me tense throughout, boasting cameos from music personalities like Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), and Zoltan Bathory (Five Finger Death Punch).

August 27:

The Funeral (An Original from SCREAMBOX) – This chilling Turkish horror production is categorized as a gradual build-up of tension. The story revolves around a hearse driver named Cemal. A family approaches him for a clandestine transportation of a deceased young girl’s body, but the situation takes an unsettling twist when the girl, evidently lifeless, starts to show signs of returning from the grave.

August 30:

The 2006 version might have been a remake of “When a Stranger Calls”, but nothing can surpass the original from 1979 in terms of suspense and fear. In this film, Carol Kane, known for her role in “Addams Family Values”, portrays Jill, a babysitter who experiences the ominous phone call asking if she’s checked on the children. And as you may have suspected, the calls are originating from within the house itself.

Also coming to SCREAMBOX in August:

In the Flesh – This zombie series is a British Academy Television award winner.

The Dial – In this chilling horror, Tobin Bell (from Saw) and Lin Shaye (of Insidious) take on leading roles. The story revolves around an elderly woman falsely accused of being a witch. Upon her passing, a band of tormentors who had harassed her are compelled to dial a certain phone number. To their shock, they find the number connects them to a phone inside the old woman’s coffin.

“Gods from the Abyss” – This thrilling underwater tale is reminiscent of Lovecraft’s cosmic horror, and it follows a submersible crew as they venture into an underwater crater, uncovering a mysterious community of peculiar entities.

Title Translation: The Woman Who Flew Free

Title Transformation: “Christmas Terror: The Possessed Nutcracker” – Struggling author returns home for the holidays, only to face a menacing, demon-possessed nutcracker of colossal size.
