Michael C. Hall will be involved in Dexter: Original Sin (and here's how)

As a seasoned gamer and ardent fan of the Dexter series, I must say, the anticipation for ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ has me more than a little giddy. Having grown up during the ’90s, the era in which this prequel is set, I can hardly wait to witness the origins of our favorite serial killer with a moral compass.

Preparing for the immersion into “Dexter: Original Sin”. Let’s journey back to the ’90s to uncover the transformation that shaped Dexter into the character we recognized from the original TV show.

Initially, it seemed Michael C. Hall wouldn’t participate in the series. Given that the story takes place in the past, Patrick Gibson steps into the famous part previously played by a moral-compass-equipped serial killer. Christian Slater is cast as Dexter’s father figure, who assists his son in navigating the correct path to control his dark impulses towards murder.

Additional actors have joined the show’s cast, including Patrick Dempsey and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Now, it seems that Hall has also been added to the roster.

Michael C. Hall will narrate Dexter: Original Sin

Many stories these days have prequels that include a narrative voice, such as the show “Young Sheldon” where Sheldon himself tells his story. Similarly, “NCIS: Origins” plans to bring back Mark Harmon’s voice for narration purposes, even though he won’t physically appear on screen in the series.

As a die-hard fan, it’s not exactly shocking to me that the upcoming series, Dexter: Original Sin, will incorporate narration. But this isn’t your typical narration like in Young Sheldon. Instead, according to TVLine’s reports, it seems Jack Alcott (Hall) will lend his voice to Young Dexter, serving as a sort of inner dialogue for our anti-hero as he grapples with decisions about who to pursue and how to execute them. This innovative approach to narration should add an intriguing depth to the narrative, especially given the series’ focus on internal conflicts that could have been challenging to convey otherwise.

As a long-time fan of the original Dexter series, I must admit my excitement is running high with the announcement that Michael C. Hall will be returning to voice the character for the upcoming prequel series on Showtime. Having grown up watching the dark and twisted adventures of Dexter Morgan, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I imagine what new stories are in store for this iconic character.

Well, we’re ready for Dexter: Original Sin!
