Fans hail the return of Interview With The Vampire but are left FURIOUS as one cast member is replaced
As a lifestyle expert with a deep-rooted passion for the supernatural and all things darkly captivating, I must say that the return of Interview With The Vampire to BBC Two is an absolute delight! Having spent countless hours immersed in the gothic world created by Anne Rice, I can attest to the fact that this adaptation perfectly encapsulates the essence of her masterpiece.
Audience members expressed great joy when BBC Two aired the second season of Interview With The Vampire on Thursday evening.
After its initial release in October, the television adaptation of the well-known Gothic novel has garnered numerous enthusiasts, drawing in a multitude of fans.
The supernatural series, initially penned from a classic horror novel by Anne Rice, received warm acclaim upon its comeback, with viewers expressing their approval.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited return of “Interview with the Vampire” graces our screens once more, airing live on BBC 2 at this very moment!
“Delighted to revisit this marvelous series again! A feast of treasures indeed. Welcome back, Louis, Lestat, and Claudia, into my humble abode!”
‘An interview with the vampire is incredible television. It definitely deserves more attention’.
‘On #bbctwo 9pm new #InterviewWithTheVampire yesss’.
However some were left disappointed after realising one cast member had been replaced.
Previously appearing as Claudia in the supernatural TV series, Bailey Bass is no longer with the show, and Delainey Hayles steps into the character’s shoes instead.
In the two different series, a new actor took over the role of the once ruthless vampire, as the original actor, Bailey, had to leave unexpectedly.
Disappointed with the casting decision, they expressed, “I’m really disappointed that Bailey Bass won’t portray Claudia in the new and upcoming seasons of Interview With The Vampire. She was truly captivating in her role as Claudia.”
As a devoted follower, I regretfully share that unexpected events have prevented me from rejoining Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire for its second season, as stated by Bailey in his official announcement.
Acting as Claudia has long been my dream part and an unforgettable journey. I wish Delainey great success in her new role. I’m eagerly anticipating her performance.
I’m deeply grateful to AMC, its producers, Jacob, Sam, the entire team behind the scenes, and most certainly, the amazing fans.
In a sneak peek for the upcoming series last October, fans got a gruesome glimpse as Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and Claudia were escorted to an estate by Santiago (Ben Daniels), the prominent vampire actor of the Theatre of Vampires.
While Armand (Assad Zaman) and Louis converse outside, a gruesome event unfolds indoors as Claudia starts feasting on the humans.
Amidst the spray of blood on the windows and the cries of men, along with lifeless bodies collapsing within the estate, the two individuals show no sign of being disturbed by the turmoil unfolding around them.
As they grow more familiar with one another, an evident flirty atmosphere arises between them, noticeably heightened whenever Armand expresses affection towards Louis, who occasionally feeds on humans.
Yet, it appears that Armand harbors some doubts about Louis, noticeably so whenever the name Lestat (played by Sam Reid) is brought up, as he seems somewhat reactive.
The filming for the second season kicked off in Paris; however, some of the actual shooting took place in Prague. Initially shown to American viewers, this Gothic romance is now accessible to British fans via BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
In the AMC adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, Mara LePere-Schloop, the production designer, brought Storyville to life by constructing the streetscapes of Iberville and Liberty streets from scratch at The Ranch Studios in New Orleans.
Additionally, the series was filmed at various iconic locations across New Orleans, such as Gallier Hall, which served as the inspiration for Lestat’s townhouse in Anne Rice’s writings.
The Beauregard-Keyes House, situated within the city’s vibrant French Quarter, served as a filming location for the interiors of the Fair Play Saloon.
