As a lifestyle consultant, I find myself reflecting on the choices of a particular individual who once graced the pages of glamour magazines. At 46, she’s currently overseas in Turkey, focusing on enhancing her appearance through various treatments, even amidst an unexpected absence from her £760,000 bankruptcy hearing held earlier this week on Tuesday.

Previously, when she didn’t show up for a court hearing, the judge warned Katie that she might be arrested if she missed future court appearances. Furthermore, he stated that proof would need to be presented if she couldn’t attend.

Rather than going to the critical hearing, Katie opted to travel with her boyfriend, JJ Slater, to Turkey for cosmetic procedures such as eye and chin surgeries, as well as tooth alterations.

Katie appeared cheerful, sitting comfortably in the dentist’s chair as her oral surgeon began their task.

Her MAFS star boyfriend JJ was later seen arriving at the dentist to make changes to his teeth. 

Originally, Katie was expected to answer queries regarding her financial situation at a specialized bankruptcy court in London, as lawyers acting on behalf of the trustee for her two bankruptcies were set to question her. However, she has now been compelled to surrender her pink Range Rover and five additional vehicles.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share that, after a brief hiatus, the amazing mom of five herself has surfaced with an exciting update! She recently posted a video on Instagram explaining her absence and revealing her upcoming adventure. It seems she’s off to Turkey for the filming of a fresh documentary detailing her latest cosmetic transformations. I can hardly wait to see what she’ll unveil next!

She said: ‘I’m filming my new documentary. The reason I’ve chose the Trio Clinic is because I’ve had friends who have had surgery there and in my opinion they are the best for what I want doing. 

‘I can’t wait, they’re amazing, and they’re thorough here.’ 

Later, Katie posted on her Instagram that she acknowledges the gravity or seriousness of her current financial predicament.

Having gone through my own financial struggles and bankruptcy, I can relate to the individual who wrote this message. It’s disheartening to find oneself back in the spotlight when trying to focus on a new opportunity, like working on a documentary. As a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience under my belt, I have always prided myself on being cooperative and dedicated to my work. In this particular instance, I am continuing to collaborate diligently with relevant individuals regarding pressing matters that require immediate attention. Though I must temporarily step away from the office to attend to other commitments, I am confident that these issues will be effectively resolved upon my return. My past experiences have taught me the importance of teamwork and collaboration, and I trust that we can find a solution together.

In the face of recurring tales that aim to embarrass me concerning my private struggles, I find myself neither humiliated nor ashamed. Instead, I acknowledge my circumstances wholeheartedly and am diligently striving to extricate myself from this predicament and rectify the situation.

Katie mentioned that she’s facing some tough periods right now and is making every effort possible, all in the interest of her loved ones.

She’s compelled to carry on with her work, meeting the requirements of the bankruptcy orders. At this moment, that’s what she’s focusing on. However, it’s not avoidance; she treats every issue with utmost gravity and will continue to do so seriously.

In May, Katie announced on her personal podcast that she was excused from attending court due to her mental health concerns, following criticism for skipping her previous bankruptcy hearing to vacation in Cyprus.

Initially scheduled to present her financial details at the High Court in May, she informed her legal team at the outset of the proceedings that she was unable to appear due to health complications. This explanation was deemed insufficient by the judge.

Later, Katie embarked on a vacation in Ayia Napa with her boyfriend from Married at First Sight, JJ Slater. They faced criticism when they were seen lounging by the pool together.

On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie countered allegations by stating that she was excused from court due to being mentally unfit.

I must say, it’s rather disappointing to hear such a casual response when someone has faced financial struggles like bankruptcy. As someone who has been there myself, I know it’s not as simple as packing up and going on holiday. Bankruptcy is a complex process that can take a heavy emotional toll and leave lasting scars. It’s important for people to offer understanding and support rather than judgment or mockery.

The court was aware that I wouldn’t be attending the bankruptcy hearing, as my mental health advisor at The Priory had cleared me from participating in any court-related activities.

At present, I find myself emotionally vulnerable and not psychologically equipped to face a courtroom setting with cross-examination, let alone the scrutiny of both the media and the public.

She emphasized that she is treating her bankruptcy with the same level of seriousness as any other matter: ‘I handle it as seriously as anything else. This is a grave predicament I find myself in, and it may appear to some as if I were merely on vacation.’

‘No, my head at the moment needs a break. I had four days in my diary where I was able to go away.

In light of my current circumstances, I find myself grappling with a multitude of issues that demand my attention and energy, leaving me mentally overwhelmed and unstable at this time. These hidden challenges have become an integral part of my life journey, and it is crucial for me to prioritize addressing them before I can face the court.

So, I’ve been absent from TikTok for several months now, starting from December. At present, I’m just doing what my physical condition and mental abilities allow me to do.

She continued: ‘I am taking the bankruptcy seriously. It’s not like I’ve jetted off on a bloody five star holiday. I’m not in a £760 a night hotel.

From my personal perspective, it seems that I’ve had some luck on this recent trip. You see, my friend beat me to this hotel by a week and informed them of my arrival, which must have impressed them enough to upgrade me upon my arrival without any extra charge. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting such a luxurious stay for such an affordable price – it’s been quite the unexpected treat! The experience has reminded me that sometimes, having a friend in the right place at the right time can make all the difference in our travel plans and overall enjoyment of a holiday.

Later, Katie mentioned she wouldn’t attend the upcoming court session, as she had received a written permission slip excusing her from attendance.

Based on my personal experiences, it appears that this individual is involved in a legal matter requiring multiple court hearings, which they are choosing to avoid. They seem to be keeping their circle informed about the situation, as they have mentioned receiving a letter from their trustees. This could suggest ongoing financial or legal complications in their life. Prior to my vacation, I had a detailed discussion lasting about an hour with the trustees managing my two bankruptcy cases, updating them on my current circumstances. Afterward, I received letters from both the trustees and the court.

My advisor has provided a set of tasks that must be completed for my release, which includes obtaining legal approval. These tasks are necessary to conclude my involvement in this matter.

Today, I return. I have scheduled meetings with my healthcare professional (consultant), counselor (therapist), and key individuals who will formally release me from their care in a legal sense.

Yesterday, only hours prior to her upcoming court hearing on July 30, it seemed that Katie posted a picture of herself eating a sandwich aboard an aircraft.

On Instagram, the financially burdened fashion model posted a photo of her lunch, commenting: “A crispy sandwich is simply delicious.”

As a loyal admirer, I’ve learned that Katie, known for her recent financial challenges with her estimated £2 million property, apparently embarked on an excursion accompanied by her friend Lou Anderson.

In response to entrepreneur and influencer Lou announcing her upcoming trip to Turkey for a tummy tuck next week, Price expressed her agreement by saying: “Absolutely, Turkey here we come!”

Lou then replied with a series of clapping emojis and wrote: ‘Come on my girl’.

As reported by The Sun, a court official revealed earlier this week that the hearing for Price’s case is still scheduled for 10:30 am.

She could now be taken into custody having failed to appear at court. 

As an enthusiastic fan, hearing that entrepreneur and influencer Lou was jetting off to Turkey for a tummy tuck next week, I couldn’t help but feel the excitement bubbling within me. When I saw her post, my heart skipped a beat as she confirmed my suspicions with a reply: “Yes girl, let’s conquer Turkey together!”

Lou then replied with a series of clapping emojis and wrote: ‘Come on my girl’.

As reported by The Sun, it was previously revealed that the court case involving Price is still scheduled for 10:30 AM.

She could now be taken into custody having failed to appear at court.

Judge Catherine Burton at the Insolvency and Companies Court stated that Price was given unmistakable instructions to appear at the court hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Previously, she was expected to address financial inquiries in a London-based bankruptcy court, led by attorneys standing for the trustee of her two declared bankruptcies.

At the last court session, it was stated that failure for Price to attend subsequent hearings might result in her being taken into custody. It was also mentioned that should she be unable to attend, proof would need to be presented.

In today’s hearing, Judge Burton stated that Price was not present without a valid reason or explanation for her non-attendance, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.

She said: ‘It is in my judgment necessary that the court issue a warrant for Ms Price’s arrest.

‘She has no real excuse in failing to attend today’s hearing.’

She continued: ‘The reason for her absence today is irrelevant.’

Judge Burton stated that the arrest warrant wasn’t taken lightly, as Price provided limited cooperation and fell short in supplying essential details about her bankruptcies, failing to disclose even the fundamental information required.

In March, the price was legally declared bankrupt again due to an outstanding tax debt of approximately £761,994.05, marking a second bankruptcy for this individual, who had previously filed for bankruptcy in 2019.

Afterwards, she received an order to vacate her Dirty Manor by the end of May, and subsequently shifted to a freshly rented Tudor-inspired abode that costs around £5,000 monthly.

However, last week she claimed ‘everything is sorted’ with her second bankruptcy after being evicted from her Sussex bolthole.

In a recent interview with Channel 5 News, the model asserted that she now understands how to handle problems effectively and vowed never to reach such a low point as before.

This relentless mental noise can make you feel as if there’s no hope or escape, and that despair can spiral into depression. If left untreated, this deepening sense of hopelessness might ultimately result in a mental breakdown, leading one to contemplate suicide. In the end, I’ve seen people reach a point where they sought help at a facility like The Priory, which specializes in mental health care. It’s crucial to remember that seeking help is not a sign of weakness but a testament to your strength and courage.

In February, a court mandated that Price should contribute 40% of her monthly earnings from the site OnlyFans to a trustee for the following three years. This decision was made as part of her initial bankruptcy proceedings.

In March, she faced bankruptcy again because she had failed to pay over £750,000 in taxes to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, which resulted in this declaration.

Last October, Price expressed her frustration over constant legal threats against her, stating that she was prepared to serve time in prison to bring an end to the situation.

On Tuesday, she was scheduled to answer questions about her financial situation at a public hearing called a creditor examination. In written statements submitted to the court, barrister Darragh Connell for the trustee stated that crucial details are still lacking concerning the bankrupt’s earnings and property holdings.

In a formal setting, I humbly declare that I’m devoid of any knowledge regarding the whereabouts of Ms. Price. I wish to clarify that her detainment is not intended for an extended duration, but rather to ensure her presence at a forthcoming proceeding.

He stated that her freedom hangs in the balance, however, regarding this issue, our options have run dry.

In the court, it was mentioned that Katie had earlier submitted several last-minute adjustment requests for her prior hearings at the last possible moment.

Initially, the previous model filed for bankruptcy on November 26, 2019, and the initial request for this action was made official on January 30, 2020.

‘The hearing of that application came before me at the beginning of lockdown – at the very last moment Ms Price contacted the court to be allowed to attend remotely on the basis that her son was in hospital,’ the judge said. 

‘The court acceded to that request.

After that point, numerous postponements of the private hearing have occurred… Typically, it was due to Ms Price choosing at the eleventh hour to collaborate with trustees to supply the essential data they’ve been striving to gather from her since her bankruptcy in 2019.

Recently, postponements have allegedly been due to poor health. During a hearing before Judge Mullen of the International Criminal Court on 26th April 2024, he expressed concern over the lack of substantial supporting medical evidence.

As someone who has worked extensively with legal documents, I can’t stress enough the importance of adhering to court orders, especially those involving public examinations. In my professional career, I have seen countless instances where individuals failed to comply with such orders and faced severe consequences as a result.

The judge mentioned that Katie might face penalties for contempt of court, including possible incarceration, fines, or other legal consequences.

She went on to say: ‘The judge paused a public hearing at 10:30 AM on May 14th. But just as we were about to resume, Ms. Price chose to collaborate again and offer additional fragmented details.’

Due to it being given so close to the end of the day, the trustee didn’t have enough time to verify if all the details were included.

Judge Burton stated that the court is certain Katie had no uncertainty about today’s public hearing being conducted.

‘She informed the trustee staff that she would be attending this hearing remotely.’

But no application for attending the hearing remotely was made, the court heard.

The judge mentioned that if an individual actively cooperates, they could have their bankruptcy dismissed within a year.

In contrast to providing full cooperation since 2021, Ms. Price has not only refused to cooperate and disclose necessary information but has also been subjected to a second bankruptcy order due to unpaid taxes exceeding £700,000, as the judge explained in court.

Ms. Price often finds herself in the limelight, seemingly seeking media attention as a means to boost her earnings.

‘Ms. Price swiftly contacts the police and emergency services whenever it seems that her property has been damaged.’

The judge said ‘unlike every other taxpayer’ Price has ‘failed’ to pay her dues.

‘It falls to her to provide detail of income and expenditure,’ Judge Burton said. 

In my advice, she had the option to keep her personal financial matters private by collaborating with trustees, yet she chose not to.
