As a long-time fan of extreme sports, I must say that watching Kieran Reilly’s silver medal-winning performance at the Paris Olympics was nothing short of exhilarating! Having followed his journey as a world champion and top qualifier for the BMX freestyle finals, it was truly heartwarming to see him make his Olympic debut and shine on such a grand stage.

On the fifth day of the Olympics held in Paris, numerous medals were distributed, with Team Great Britain being part of the medal race. BMX rider Kieran Reilly seized his opportunity during the BMX freestyle finals to stand out. Indeed, he managed to do so brilliantly.

For Reilly, the Paris Games marked his Olympic debut. He captivated spectators with what appeared to be steady performances throughout the games. Without a doubt, silver remains a fantastic accomplishment for a novice Olympian like Kieran Reilly, especially considering he never fathomed he’d even contend at the Olympics. Being that BMX events debuted in Tokyo during the last Games, this astounding achievement is equally creditable for both Reilly and Team GB. It was pretty special. I’ve worked three years just to get here so to end up on the podium is huge. A lot of work comes down to one minute on that course and I feel like I left everything out there.

I’d hoped it was (enough for gold) and thought it could have been but that’s BMX, we ride in a subjective sport.
