Chris Evans shares first look at surprise Deadpool & Wolverine return

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Marvel movies and a touch of nostalgia for the good old Fantastic Four days, this latest news about Chris Evans‘ return to the big screen as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine has left me utterly thrilled!

In simpler terms, Chris Evans (known for playing Captain America) talked about rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the movie titled “Deadpool & Wolverine” and posted a picture from the film’s set featuring himself along with actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

In the third installment of Deadpool, penned and helmed by Shawn Levy, Evans once again took on the character of Johnny Storm/Human Torch. This Marvel actor originally embodied Johnny in the 2005 Fantastic Four movie and its sequel from 2007, titled Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Over the weekend, the Deadpool & Wolverine movie dropped in theaters, and I’ve got to say, it was a blast! I couldn’t help but hop on my Instagram Stories to send a big shout-out to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Drew Goddard for making that cameo happen. They truly nailed it!

“I’m grateful to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy for giving me the opportunity to join an amazing film!” Evans posted alongside a picture from the Deadpool & Wolverine set. “These gentlemen are simply delightful individuals.”

He gratefully acknowledged Ryan for ensuring everything ran smoothly, and added that reprising the role of Johnny was like a cherished dream. Johnny will forever hold a unique spot in his heart. (Paraphrased)

In the film directed by Levy, renowned for its adult content, Evans, famous for playing Captain America (Steve Rogers) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joins other well-known actors, including Deadpool’s character.

When it comes to certain well-known figures being revealed prematurely, Levy acknowledged that he took on this risk intentionally, opting to film on real locations instead of using a studio set.

In a conversation with Digital Spy, Levy stated that the usual method for creating such big-budget films is primarily on sound stages using green screens, LEDs, volume work, or motion capture. However, we chose a different path. From the very beginning, we decided to reject this approach.

Deadpool & Wolverine is out now in cinemas.
