Nicolas Cage's son Weston pleads not guilty to assaulting mom Christina Fulton during 'mental health crisis' - as he claims she 'needs help' in incendiary remarks

As a compassionate observer of the tumultuous journey of life, I cannot help but feel deeply saddened by the recurring struggles faced by Weston Cage, the son of the illustrious Nicolas Cage and Christina Fulton. His tale is a poignant reminder that fame and fortune do not shield one from the complexities of mental health issues and the challenges they present.

Weston, the son of actor Nicolas Cage, has denied charges for physically attacking his mother, Christina Fulton, amidst reports of a potential mental health breakdown.

In my capacity as a lifestyle advisor, let’s discuss a situation involving an individual named Weston, age 33. Regrettably, Weston finds himself facing serious charges, namely assault with a deadly weapon. The allegations stem from an incident in April, where he is said to have attacked his mother. It’s crucial for all of us to remember the importance of maintaining peace and respect within our families and communities.

Christina was present at court for the hearing – and told TMZ that she believes her son needs help.

In turn Weston retorted: ‘She needs help’ about his mother as he left court in downtown LA.

Earlier this month Christina broke her silence on the alleged attack.

Weston, aged 33 and son of Fulton and renowned actor Nicolas Cage, was taken into custody on charges of assaulting someone with a potentially lethal object, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Later on the same day, he was released.

On April 28, in the Los Angeles region, a confrontation took place between Weston and Fulton. It’s said that a heated argument escalated into a physical altercation.

As a seasoned lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I understand the importance of being there for loved ones in times of need. On April 28th, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., I was hit with an urgent plea from friends of my son, Weston Cage. Their messages were a stark reminder of the fragility of our loved ones’ mental health and the crucial role we play in their support system.

Upon my arrival to provide comfort and assistance, I found him in an intense fit of anger, bordering on madness. In just a few short moments, I was viciously attacked and suffered severe wounds, as she stated.

Although I earnestly implored the arriving police officers to hold him for a psychological assessment, they declined my petition. (In this case, “I” represents a dedicated follower or bystander.)

In my role as a caring mother, I find myself profoundly troubled and anxious over Weston’s prolonged mental health struggles.

‘It is imperative that he receives the help he desperately needs,’ she concluded.

On Wednesday, the LAPD reported that Weston had been arrested for carrying out an attack using a dangerous instrument – a development occurring merely weeks following sightings of his mother bearing severe facial bruises.

In a confirmation to People, the LAPD also verified that the arrest was directly linked to the reported altercation on April 28th.

During the incident, Cage repeatedly struck two individuals, resulting in harm. Upon arrival, the Los Angeles Police Department interviewed all involved parties and submitted a report about the occurrence.

According to People, Weston voluntarily surrendered and was taken into custody at the 77th division police station in Los Angeles.

On May 10, Weston’s case was handed over to the district attorney’s office. On June 26, the district attorney accused him of two charges of using a lethal weapon in an assault. Eventually, an arrest warrant was released for him.

Early in the morning at about 10am, the actor was freed with a $150,000 bond, and it’s said that his father likely provided this bail money according to The U.S. Sun.

An earlier source informed The Sun about the arrest, stating, ‘The family had anticipated this, yet it still came as an enormous surprise.’ A relative’s confidant shared this with the media outlet.

A report stated that an ambulance was summoned to Fulton’s residence for an examination, yet she refused to go to the hospital according to TMZ during the claimed event.

Law enforcement officers found that Weston had already left the scene when they arrived, leading them to consider whether his actions could potentially be classified as a felony battery case.

At one point, it was claimed by sources (initially reported by TMZ) that Fulton was attempting to comfort her son as he grappled with certain emotional troubles.

Reporters were informed by their sources that she denied rumors of a disagreement between her and another person, and requested discretion regarding this private issue.

In April, the actress known for playing Snake Eyes was spotted inserting money into a parking meter, sporting a shaded eye and visible bruises on her facial area.

She met an unknown friend there, with whom she shared a hug.

In May, the actress made a public announcement about her encounter with her son, stating that there was no dispute between them before the incident occurred.

On Sunday, the 28th of April, I received messages from some of Weston’s closest friends, asking for help as they were dealing with Weston during a mental health emergency.

As soon as I got there, my son seemed to be going through a severe mental health crisis. This unfortunate event made the encounter extremely distressing for me.

“For years, I’ve been committed to aiding my son through his mental health challenges. I’m making every effort to ensure he continues receiving the necessary support.” (Fulton stated.)

Previously, the son of the actor famed for National Treasure has encountered legal issues before. In 2017, he was apprehended on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to the police report, he collided with several parked vehicles, street signs, and mailboxes before ultimately crashing his car into a tree.

After being taken to the hospital, he was charged with a DUI and arrested on $30,000 bail.

In the year 2011, following a disagreement with his former wife, Nikki Williams, he was accused of domestic violence, as reported by ABC News.

Weston has been treated for mental health issues in the past.

He was hospitalized on a psychiatric hold in 2011 after a violent incident in Los Angeles.

During that period, Fulton attributed her son’s psychological issues to Nicolas Cage, stating, “Nicolas Cage has harmed, meddled, and done something truly heinous. Now, I must rush to retrieve my son,” she shared with Inside Edition.

As the devoted caregiver, it was me who nurtured Weston, me who looked after him diligently. While his father was engrossed in his acting career, he was away at work.

In 1988, Fulton and Cage started dating, and their son, Weston, was born in 1990. However, the relationship didn’t lead to marriage, and they parted ways less than a year after Weston’s birth.

In November last year, both Weston and Fulton (known for their successful skincare brand) sued Hila Arounian, Weston’s ex-wife, accusing her of stealing $100,000, defaming them, and falsely obtaining a ‘deceptive restraining order’ that kept Fulton and his family from visiting Weston’s twin daughters, Venice and Cyress.

The lawsuit documents acquired by Page Six state: ‘Ms. Arounian has a troubling habit of making baseless, harmful accusations against others as a method of control and manipulation, which includes this form of character defamation.’

Additionally, Fulton claims that her ex-daughter-in-law intentionally influenced Weston into seeking a restraining order against her back in 2020.

At the point of submission, neither Nicholas nor Fulton hadn’t yet encountered their twin granddaughters, who celebrate their fourth birthday in July.

It’s deeply distressing that we can’t spend time with our lovely granddaughters who were recently born. Neither Nicolas nor I have had the opportunity to meet them at all since their birth. We find ourselves in a silent, dreadful nightmare. It’s hard to express just how absurd, agonizing, and heart-wrenching this situation is.

Weston is married to Danielle from 2013 to 2016, and they have two older boys: Lucian, who’s nine, and Sorin, who’s seven. These boys are Weston’s sons from his previous marriage.
