I’m so glad the BBC’s Dublin Murders finally hit Netflix UK – and it’s already number one! It’s a really gripping crime drama, created by Sarah Phelps (who also did The Sixth Commandment), and it centers around two detectives trying to solve the mystery of a young girl’s death. I’m hooked!
Originally broadcast on BBC One and RTÉ One in 2019, the crime drama Dublin Murders is based on the popular novels by Tana French. After becoming available on Disney Plus last year, it’s now gaining a new following on Netflix, with many viewers quickly starting to watch.
Starring Sarah Greene (known from Bad Sisters and The Death of Bunny Munro) and Killian Scott (The Capture, Ripper Street), this detective drama follows Cassie Maddox and Rob Reilly as they investigate a disturbing case near Ireland’s capital city. When a 13-year-old boy is found dead in the woods, the detectives suspect a connection to the decades-old disappearance of three young boys in the 1980s.

Viewers were immediately captivated by the premiere of Dublin Murders. Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their enthusiasm, with one writing, “Such a great opening episode!” Another viewer added, “Very impressed with #DublinMurders and can’t wait for the next episode!”
Reviews for the drama were generally positive. The Daily Telegraph gave it four stars and described the finale as full of twists, calling the show a complex and gripping Irish crime thriller with a satisfying ending.
Screenrant praised Dublin Murders as a gripping and suspenseful crime thriller, highlighting the excellent performances of its stars, Scott and Greene.

The Observer newspaper (reported by the Guardian) described the show as captivating and exciting, but thought some viewers might have been confused by how the two storylines jumped around.

Now that all eight episodes of Dublin Murders are on Netflix, it’s a great time to start watching – or revisit – this twisty and captivating mystery series.
This show is now available on Netflix, joining other popular series like the early 2000s teen drama One Tree Hill and the sci-fi mystery Person of Interest from the 2010s, which also recently became available on the streaming service in the UK.
