Superman gets exciting filming update with new set photo
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of comic book and movie-related experiences under my belt, the news about Superman hitting the big screen again is nothing short of exhilarating! I remember the days when I would rush to the local comic book store every week, eagerly awaiting the latest issue featuring the Man of Steel. Now, seeing him come to life on the silver screen once more brings a nostalgic smile to my face.
Next summer, Superman is set to soar onto movie screens, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in DC’s film universe, as production has now been formally concluded.
As a die-hard fan, I was thrilled to see James Gunn’s recent Instagram post showcasing a set photo from the initial week of filming in Norway! He not only gave us a sneak peek but also shared some exhilarating updates wrapped in a warm, heartfelt message.
“That’s all for now. I wish our talented team – actors, technicians, and everyone behind the scenes – all the best. Their dedication, imagination, and perseverance are what made this production possible.”
“My intention was to create a film featuring an honorable character amidst an imperfect world. The compassion and virtue I’ve witnessed every day during production have uplifted me and given me the strength to carry on even when I felt drained, motivating me to continue.”
I deeply appreciate each and every one of you from the deepest part of my heart. It’s been a privilege working with all of you. Although our goal was Superman, it was the hard work, laughter, emotions, creativity, and magic we created together on set that truly made this journey memorable. For those shared moments, I am eternally grateful.
The television series known as Superman, previously called Superman: Legacy, features David Corenswet playing the roles of both Clark Kent and Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult taking on the role of Lex Luthor.
They’re leading a cast that also includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, Wendell Pierce as Perry White and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.
In the new DC Universe, “Superman” marks its initial film release, but it doesn’t signify the commencement of the expanded universe narrative.
It’s expected that “Creature Commandos” animated series, due to premiere on Max in December 2024, will receive this honor. A sneak peek of the show was unveiled at a recent DC panel during Comic-Con.
Superman is released in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
